WELCOME TO OLD TOWN HYPNOTHERAPY
Where modern clinical hypnotherapy helps you to resolve unwanted issues quickly in a relaxed, confidential and supportive environment.
We have clinics in Swindon, Cirencester, Exeter and Plymouth and we also provide Hypnotherapy at Home by Skype or if you are in the Exeter, Plymouth areas we can visit you at home if you have a disability that makes it difficult for you to visit the clinic.
How it works?
In the first instance you will be offered a free one hour initial consultation during which you can explain what is troubling you so we understand why you are looking for help with hypnotherapy and it also give us the opportunity to explain fully how hypnotherapy may help you. You will then be able to make an informed decision as to whether or not you would like to go ahead with a session, but there is no obligation to do so. Either way you will leave the free initial consultation with a new understanding of how the brain works, why you have developed the condition that brought you to us, what you need to do to resolve it and a free self hypnosis CD.
Why Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is so effective
If you decide to go ahead with the session, the solution focused approach centres on the present and future and not on the past and many clients are relieved to discover that they are not expected to talk in detail about their problems or relive distressing memories. At Old Town Hypnotherapy we ask you to consider your preferred future, for instance, “what would be better if the problem had improved?” “What would have changed?” This enables your mind to imagine different possible solutions and alternative perspectives that you've been blocking due to getting trapped focusing on the problems.
What is hypnosis like?
The hypnosis itself, which just feels as if you are nicely relaxed, allows you to access your subconscious mind and make changes at that subconscious level. At all times you are completely in control, your mind will only accept what it agrees with and the changes you make feel very natural because they have come from you.
Does hypnotherapy really work?
“Research shows that there is more scientific evidence for hypnotherapy than any other complementary therapy…. by using hypnosis, people can perform prodigious feats of will power and self healing”(Health Education Authority)
*”When I had my first session, I was tired (and looked it), not sleeping well and very anxious. I was negative about everything and, quite literally, going around in circles, instead of coping with the issues that were causing the problems in the first place.
I left my first session feeling elated and felt I could regain control of my life, so much so, that I instantly recommended a friend. After two further sessions, I felt better than I had done in a long time, looked better and started to deal with the problems that were causing me the stress, effectively and efficiently. After just 6 sessions I felt I was a 10 on the happiness scale! No longer tired, I was sleeping again, and the stresses and strains had melted away. I cannot recommend hypnotherapy enough, it has literally changed my life.” Drew Carlton, Old Town, Swindon*
*Results may vary from person to person
Our emphasis is on providing a friendly and relaxed environment and helping clients to feel comfortable which is very important not only to us, but also to the therapeutic process. Often Hypnosis can be quite intimidating the first time someone tries it and we help you to alleviate any fears you may have, so you come away happy, energised and full of hope that you will resolve the issues which brought you to us in the first place.
