Profile

I am an experienced full time Professional Solution Focused Hypnotherapist. I have extensive experience & I specialise in helping those who are suffering from Anxiety, Stress & Depression related conditions, which normally tend to  affect sleep patterns. I am also seeing an ever increasing amount of people for weight loss as more and more people are starting to realise the huge benefit of how hypnotherapy can help in this area.

I am registered on the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) which is recognised by GP’s. The CNHC Register has  been set up so that GPs and the public can see which practitioners  have been assessed as meeting national standards of competence and practice.

I hold a Hypnotherapy Practioner Diploma (HPD) and am a member of the National Council of Hypnotherapy (NCH) and the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapists (AfSFH).

I have a current enhanced CRB check and am committed to helping people take control of their lives. Through client-centred therapy significant positive changes can be implemented and maintained in a short period of time.

I trained at the Clifton Practice in Bristol, a centre of excellence, and obtained a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy. The course is accredited by the Hypnotherapy Society, the National Council for Hypnotherapy, the National Council of Psychotherapy and the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.

Childbirth

Self hypnosis for childbirth is a fabulous experience.  I will teach you the tools of hypnobirthing and self-hypnosis for you to use during your labour. The course is quite intensive and does require commitment and practise but the benefits are amazing for you, and for your baby.  The course is a lovely experience and as well as dealing with the birth it also helps with bonding and coping skills for those early weeks after your baby is here.  Benefits include a more relaxed baby afterwards too, hypnobirthing mothers report that their babies sleep well and are generally calm. Birthing partners are very welcome to attend the sessions too.

You will also receive various handouts, a relaxation CD and and an 8 track CD that has tracks to listen to at different stages of your pregnancy and labour.  I am also able to work with your birthing partner by providing keywords for them to use and further techniques to use during the labour. I will also liaise with your midwifery team.

Is hypnotherapy safe?
Yes, you cannot be hypnotised against your will. You decide which suggestions you wish to accept. You remain in control throughout hypnosis.

Will I become stuck in trance?
No, you are fully in control at all times.

Will I reveal personal secrets whilst in hypnosis?
No – this is clinical hypnosis and NOT stage hypnosis.

Can you get stuck in trance and be unable to wake up?
Hypnotherapy is a natural state. You may be so relaxed that you fall asleep but you awaken naturally and your senses will return to their normal state.

What happens during hypnosis?
During hypnotherapy you will be taken into a deep state of relaxation where the logical side of your mind (the conscious) can be bypassed and the subconscious can be accessed to help you make positive changes in your life.

Is hypnosis medically proven?
Yes. The British Medical Association adopted hypnosis as a viable therapeutic tool in 1958, as did the American Medical and the American Psychiatric Association.

Will I be made to do odd or stupid things?
No. This is Clinical Hypnotherapy and it is used for helpful purposes only.

What payment methods do we accept?
Payment is by cash or cheque at the end of each session. To avoid a cancellation fee, please give 48 hours notice of any change of appointment.
