About me

My name is Nick Ebdon and I am a hypnotherapist, coach and personal development specialist based in Sidcup.

I present the NEW ‘Hypnosis Discussion Network podcast’ and was the original founder of the UK’s largest professional hypnosis convention, the UK Hypnosis Convention.

So how do I work?

In addition to being one of the most established and qualified hypnotherapists and trainers, I have studied a number of additional coaching and therapeutic models and strategies (*see below).

This has allowed the scope of my business to grow to include coaching and mentoring (often other therapists and trainers), and personal development consultations alongside my hypnotherapy clients.

Using a multi-modality style of approach with quick and effective hypnosis to resolve issues, I am often able to help individuals where previous therapy work has proved unsuccessful.

Training, qualifications & experience

Hypnotherapy

I initially became certified through the National Guild of Hypnotists as a Certified Hypnotherapist (accredited by the GHSC) , before continuing my studies by completing the OMNI Hypnosis Basic through Advanced training with Gerald Kein.

I subsequently qualified as a NGH (the worlds oldest and largest hypnosis organisation) Certified Instructor, as well as adding Board certification to my NGH credentials.

In 2015, I also became the first OMNI Designated Certification Instructor and OMNI Hypnosis Training Center® in the U.K., certifying on behalf of OMNI Hypnosis Training and the IBHEC, before declining to continue in the role due to the outdated material and ethical restraints of the syllabus.

Coaching and NLP

I have studied the Robbins-Madanes Core 100 Strategic Coach certificate, am a certified Integrative Life Coach and a former Certified Master Practitioner and Certified NLP Trainer.

CBT & Additional Training

I have an NCFE lvl 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and qualifications in Individual and Organisational Stress Management.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

I specialise in a number of fields such as depression and anxiety, motivation, personal development and relationships, though happy to help clients resolve most issues or have a large network of fellow therapists I am happy to refer onto if I feel they specialise in specific areas.

I also see a number of referred clients from other hypnotherapists and therapists who have not had the desired outcome when working together, as well as offering my services including supervision to others in the therapy community.

As a former senior commodity trader and executive director for a renowned Wall Street Investment bank, I specialise in helping individuals working in sales and trading, executives and other professionals in high-pressured jobs.

A little more about my history

Before becoming a hypnotherapist and instructor, I had a long and successful career trading commodities as an executive director at a Wall Street Investment bank, before leaving to run my own trading and business consultancy company and to pursue my passion in hypnotherapy, CBT and helping others. My first experience of hypnotherapy was back in 2002 which proved successful in resolving the issues of stress and insomnia I was suffering from at the time.

It was from this personal experience that began to develop a fascination with the human mind and the psychological and emotional issues people deal with.

I founded the UKHC in 2016 and grew it to the biggest event of its kind outside of North America, before handed it over at the end of 2018 to its new and current owner. Through the convention, over the years I have grown a large international network of domestic and overseas therapists and trainers, many of whom invite me to train with them.
