About me

My name's Natalie and welcome to Aurora Mind and Body. I provide hypnotherapy and psychotherapy solutions to help you feel happier and healthier. I don't yet know what you would like to achieve but I know you have the strength within you to do it - and I could help you find it.

Aurora Mind and Body got its name from the philosophy I live by when it comes to wellbeing; the body is more likely to feel well when the mind feels well. Emotional problems are often expressed through physical symptoms in the body and, often, dealing with emotional problems can help you feel better physically.

What services does Aurora Mind and Body provide?

I'm Complementary and Natural Heathcare Council (CNHC) registered and I provide integrative hypnotherapy and psychotherapy. Hypnotherapy combines brilliantly with psychotherapy so whether you like to talk or are more reflective, there are lots of ways we can approach what's bothering you.

Therapy can be provided face to face in Swindon or let the therapy room come to you with my online or telephone virtual clinic.

What is 'integrative' hypnotherapy and psychotherapy?

You may see some hypnotherapists advertise themselves as 'solution-focussed' or 'cognitive-behavioural'. The beauty of being trained in integrative hypnotherapy and psychotherapy is that I'm able to draw on techniques from lots of different modalities to provide you with a therapy solution that meets your needs at the time of your session. For example, in one session we may look at your childhood, using techniques from psychoanalysis and NLP and another session we may use a solution-focussed or CBT approach to look at your goals and thought patterns. The possibilities are endless.

How could I help you?

Hypnotherapy and psychotherapy can be useful for a range of issues. Perhaps you're looking to lose weight, improve your sports performance or stop smoking? Or maybe you'd like some help with anxiety, stress or insomnia? Hypnotherapy and psychotherapy could also help you to beat exam stress, manage chronic pain or overcome a phobia that has been bugging you for years.

Do you suffer from IBS?

NICE have also endorsed hypnotherapy as an effective treatment for IBS so if you've been diagnosed with IBS by your doctor and would like to try a different approach, why not call me for a chat?

If you would like a helping hand to feel happier and healthier, let's work on it together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained in integrative hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and online therapy with the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy in Oxford (NCHP) and I earned my British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited honours degree in psychology through the Open University.

I chose the most in-depth training in hypnotherapy and psychotherapy available as I strongly believe in being the best I can be for my clients. The National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy have been training hypno-psychotherapists since 1977 and are one of only four hypnotherapy training organisations which the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) have accredited. UKCP is a member of the government’s gold standard accreditation body, the PSA.

I hold the following professional qualifications

  • Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy – DHP(NC)
  • Certificate in Online Therapy
  • BSc(hons) Psychology (Open)
  • Certificate in Health Sciences (Open)

I’m also registered with the following professional bodies

  • British Psychological Society (MBPsS)
  • Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
  • National Society of Hypnosis, Psychotherapy and Mindfulness (MNSHPM)
  • United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) – 400 client hours are required for full membership and I am working towards this

What is a hypno-psychotherapist?

"Hypno-psychotherapist" is the term used to distinguish hypnotherapists trained at masters-level from hypnotherapists with less in-depth qualifications. Hypno-psychotherapists are trained in psychotherapy as well as hypnosis and as a result, hypno-psychotherapists are able to use talking therapy as well as hypnosis in treatments.

It's important you choose the right therapist for you and it's equally important to make sure the therapist you choose is adequately trained.
