I am a fully qualified Clinical, Solution Focused Hypnotherapist/Psychotherapist, based in Bromyard and able to offer a new method of Hypnotherapy combined with Solution Focused Techniques, Neuroscience and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). I am also available in Worcester, Worcestershire, and Ludlow, Shropshire.
My past experience in HR, Training, Coaching and Counselling have given me the opportunity to encourage and support others so that they are able to meet their own goals and aspirations.
My specialist area is stress/anxiety and depression. However, I have successfully helped my clients cope better with a variety of other symptoms. Stress and anxiety can manifest itself in various ways; this may include panic attacks, depression, fears, and phobias. Anxiety may display itself indirectly through obsessive compulsive disorder, skin and eating disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, insomnia and many other conditions if not treated professionally.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, a form of 'talk therapy' uses practical, modern and well-researched strategies to help clients make significant, positive changes to their lives in a relatively short period of time. The approach focuses on the present and future and not on the past. I work with clients to consider their preferred future, for instance, what would be better if the problem had improved? What would have changed? This enables the client’s possible solutions to become more apparent and worked towards. Hypnosis itself reduces anxiety and this is done very simply through relaxation and visualization, allowing the client to focus on the positive aspects of their lives that encourage a shift in perspective.
This type of treatment can help with Confidence and Self-Esteem problems. It can also help (if necessary in conjunction with medication) in the treatment of Depression, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Agoraphobia and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Plus phobias such as spiders, water, flying and public speaking can also be minimised, along with painful memories and traumatic experiences.
I offer an Initial Consultation at a reduced rate (£15), to explain how I work and what I can to help you cope better.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma and a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.
My experience as a Solution Focused Clinical Psychotherapist and Hypnotherapist, and in life generally, has shown me time and time again how very easy it can be to change our lives for the better by taking just small steps towards achieving what we want to achieve.
I trained as a clinical hypnotherapist and psychotherapist through the highly acclaimed Clifton Practice in Bristol. I have undertaken further training in hypnotherapy for helping people with eating disorders, undertaking chemotherapy and helping to take the stress out of childbirth. Also, I have studied and adapted the use of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming).
I am now working towards an advanced level of Hospital Hypnotherapy to help my clients with any form of phobia/fear of needles and/or emetophobia. Help others to cope better whilst undertaking chemotherapy or palliative care. I conduct voluntary work as a complementary therapist in a Hospice in Hereford.
