I am a registered Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist covering the South Hams in Devon. I am married with two children.
I became interested in Hypnotherapy after the birth of my daughter when difficulties following the birth left me with an anxiety disorder. I was fortunate enough to meet a trainee hypnotherapist who was looking for guinea pigs, and was desperate enough to volunteer. I was highly sceptical but prepared to try anything and was astounded and delighted by the results.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy was unlike anything I had come across. It helped me to understand what I had been going through and how I could take back control and change my life for the better. As I got my life back on track I became inspired to help others in the same way that I had been helped, and the rest (as they say) is history.
How do I help?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy utilises a combination of clinically proven therapies such as CBT, NLP, and hypnosis together with the understandings of modern neuroscience. This combination of methods is tremendously powerful and will enable you to make long-lasting changes in your life.
Each session is tailored specifically for you and your needs to help you achieve your goals, reduce your stress and overcome the challenges you are currently facing.
What to expect
The initial consultation and assessment session is an integral part of your therapy and serves a number of purposes. It provides the opportunity for you to describe the challenges you are currently facing, and for me to ask questions that will help me understand the best way to help you.
I also explain how the brain works; the relationship between our conscious and subconscious mind and I provide you with a clear understanding of the origin of our thoughts, habits and behaviours. I also explain what hypnotherapy is and how it works
During the initial consultation we will agree what goals you would like to work towards and put together a plan of action to help you to achieve them.
In the following sessions we work together to help you break down your goals into achievable steps whilst giving you the knowledge and tools that will help you as you work towards those goals. This work is then compounded in the second half of the session as I use hypnosis to support the work we have done.
