Hi my name is Jo, a fully trained Integrated Hypnotherapist, offering NLP, CBT, psychotherapeutic and counselling skills. I will build a therapeutic relationship with you, to explore health and well-being concerns, identify tools or resources and enable you to make changes.
Are you struggling with an unwanted habit eg.your eating pattern or food addictions? Or do you find it difficult to manage your negative thoughts about something? Anxiety and how to move forward with certain feelings can be overwhelming. Do you have a phobia which is restricting what you can do and where you can go? Anything which is limiting what you want to achieve in life, can be worked on so you have the skills and strategies to be the best you, you can be.
With 25 years experience as a Nurse, Midwife, Health visitor and Practice Teacher I can help clients with a range of health and well-being Issues. I have a non judgemental approach and no concern is too trivial to discuss. In this safe environment with guaranteed confidentiality we can explore together, to help you generally feel more positive and skilled in a particular situation.
Before meeting I contact you by phone or email to discuss any concerns or queries about how hypnotherapy and my sessions can support you. This conversation introduces you to how I work and explores what you want to achieve from our sessions. This is a free consultation and is partly about assessing whether I am the right person for you and if you feel comfortable with me.
At our first meeting we will explore the issue and work together to achieve your goals. This is time and space for you to be really listened to and can be empowering in itself. Clients often know what they want to do, but need help to access their resources, which gives insight into their thoughts and behaviours, enabling changes to be effective. It also helps to establish how motivated you are to make changes, as this process involves your commitment too.
Anxiety or stress can be a large influencer on health and well-being, which reduces our ability to cope with everyday life. Some of the many benefits of hypnotherapy includes a relaxed, inward focusing state where messages to your subconscious enables change to happen effectively and positive suggestions boost your motivation and sense of wellbeing. This makes hypnotherapy enjoyable as well as productive.
Areas of expertise include anxiety, confidence, phobias, weight and pain management and quit smoking.
Hypnotherapy when used together with therapeutic skills can be a powerful tool for sustained change.
