About me

I have been a qualified clinical Hypnotherapist since1997. I have recently moved, I am now based in Cardiff. At the moment my consulting room is not ready. Hopefully I will be up and running in August. Should you whish to discuss anything please don't hesitate to contact me.

Hypnotherapy is a highly personal process and I pride myself on tailoring treatments to each individual client's concerns. I am a real people person with a natural empathy that will put you at ease. With a background in social work, I decided to train as a hypnotherapist because I wanted to help people help themselves.

Hypnosis is a natural manifestation of the mind at work resulting in a delightful and relaxed state of mind and body together with a heightened awareness.

How Hypnotherapy  can help.
Hypnosis can improve your general functioning - make you feel better mentally and physically; it is not in any way harmful and you cannot be influenced to do anything against your will.  Almost without exception, after hypnosis you will wake feeling relaxed, peaceful, content and confident. The treatment works because when a person is in a trance-like state, the subconscious is more aware and able to accept positive feelings and suggestions. Hypnotherapy can help a broad spectrum of challenges.

I believe that some people are concerned that it may not work for them but, the only people who can't be hypnotised are those who don't want to be hypnotised. The depths and response levels do differ from person to person.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

CNHC
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
