Hello, my name is Emma and I offer therapy to BOTH private clients, AND MS Society members/ MS sufferers at the premises of the Wigan and Leigh branch at the Galleries, Wigan, in the "Marketplace" Shopping Centre, and a small number of appointments at Daisy Hill, Westhoughton. Please note, the Wigan premises are wheelchair accessible, however the toilet facilities are reached by a flight of 5 steps.
"You know more than you think you do" - Dr. Benjamin Spock, Commonsense
Book of Baby and Child Care.
Quotations encompass so much in one sentence! I particularly like this one because after 15 years' experience of working as a Hypnotherapist/Psychotherapist/Counsellor, it is so rewarding to see this proven time and again as clients move on from their difficulties using my help and guidance along with their innermost skills. Core beliefs can be modified if they are unhealthy or dysfunctional so there is no need to remain stuck in a loop whatsoever. Whatever your difficulty, whether short or longstanding, I offer a combination of Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy. Counselling and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) tailor-made to suit your situation. Depression, Anxiety, Self-esteem issues, Lack of Motivation, Weight Management, Smoking Cessation, HIV +clients to name but a few are areas I have knowledge and expertise in.
A typical approx 60 to 75 minute session consists of an exchange of information between myself and the client, in a safe, confidential, non-judgemental setting. The first session is a fact-finding exercise to establish what needs to be addressed and how. It also gives the client an opportunity to offload emotions and problems that often have never been divulged in quite the same way before. There is not always time to do "hands-on" therapy at the first session. At the end of each session I advise each client what I consider to be the next step forward, and if you are unsure about anything or feel uncomfortable with any suggestions then you are free to discuss this and alternatives may need to be considered.
For clients who would prefer telephone or online therapy, that is available also.
For clients with Gut-related disorders I am a qualified gut-disorders Therapist, dealing mainly with IBS but also other disorders such as Coeliac disease. Please note; I am not a medical doctor or a dietician, my gut-related help is mainly Psychologically-based.
Intensive Sessions
I offer 1.5 hour sessions for weight management/loss. smoking cessation and self-esteem. The latter may include beauty therapy tuition.
The chosen subject is looked at in depth, from all angles, and employing hypnotherapy, visualisation, and other psychotherapy techniques to move you on. An information pack will be included during attendance.
If desired, the intensive ( or individual) hypnotherapy sessions for weight loss may incorporate suggestions related to "virtual gastric band" therapy, at the discretion of the therapist. These will not be suitable for everybody.

Further Information

I would like to mention that I welcome clients of ALL faiths, sexualities, creeds, races, ages etc without reservation. I am a Christian myself, but am NOT a Christian Counsellor, as that is a separate type of training and I chose not to follow that particular route. My faith reflects in how I work, but therapy sessions are NOT the appropriate arena for spreading my faith of itself.
