About me

Anxiety and work stress specialist in Clifton and Bedminster.

My name is Duncan Leckie and I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist and a Registered Nurse. I see my clients at Alma Vale Hypnotherapy Clinic, Clifton and at The Bedminster Family Practice and have flexible daytime and evening and weekend appointments available. I am a registered member of The Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (APHP), the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) the Association for Solution Focussed Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) and Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

I offer a free of charge initial consultation to discuss how hypnotherapy can help you.

Using Clinical Hypnosis, I work with clients who are committed to change. Hypnotherapy can help with areas such as:

  • Reducing stress and anxiety levels
  • Drugs and other addictions
  • Sleep problems
  • Improving confidence and focus
  • Weight loss
  • Quitting smoking
  • Managing problems with alcohol
  • Managing pain
  • Overcoming phobias

All of us can have difficult times in our lives where we feel things are getting on top of us or we feel we are losing control. Sometimes this can make us feel anxious, depressed, and angry or a combination of all three.

I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist who specialises in helping you find the best solutions to any difficulties you are facing.

Contact me by telephone on 0117 929 1536 or mobile on 07879 353 886 or by email contact@duncanleckie.co.uk to take the first step to a positive change.

Training, qualifications & experience

My approach is non-judgemental, constructive and absolutely committed to helping you achieve the positive changes you wish to make.

I became interested in hypnotherapy after speaking to friends who had successfully used it to overcome a phobia and quit smoking. I was impressed by their results and how it changed their lives for the better. This led me to training at the Clifton Practice, a recognised leader and centre of excellence for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.

I worked as a nurse for over twenty years in many areas including operating theatres and the community. I have gained my nursing experience in major centres of teaching including Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and Sydney Hospital/Sydney Eye Hospital. I have experienced people at their most vulnerable times. I am used to working with people who are stressed, in pain and sometimes in fear.

I hope to impart my enthusiasm and my belief that hypnotherapy really does work, and that simple changes can make dramatic positive results to people’s lives.

I like my sessions to be informal, thought provoking and everyone to leave with a smile.

To work with children and vulnerable adults all Registered Nurses are required to have full enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Clearance (DCB) and I am happy to provide evidence of this as requested.

I look forward to hearing from you and any issues you would like to bring.
