I am an experienced clinical hypnotherapist and lecturer working at North Cardiff Hypnotherapy and I am a Hospital Clinical Hypnotherapist at (UHW Cardiff Wales).
I practice Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy. This means looking at where you are now and helping you achieve your goals of where you actually want to be.
Hypnotherapy may help with a range of issues, the most common ones we see people for are conditions related to anxiety, social anxiety or phobias, such as fear of flying for example. Anxiety is a very unpleasant sensation of fear where your thoughts are frightening and you have physical symptoms in your body too, such as a racing heart or sweaty palms.
In hypnotherapy we explain how the mind constructs these anxious thoughts and we use trance allow you moments of calm so that you feel calmer, more confident and more in control. We often cannot control events in our lives but we have the ability to control our reactions to those events. Feelings of sadness, jealously and anger issues may also benefit from this technique. Hypnotherapy may have a role to play in managing conditions that cause persistent pain too, but as with all complementary therapy it is always best to ask your doctor first before commencing hypnotherapy.
I also specialise in helping people who suffer from anticipatory nausea associated with chemotherapy. This is when you start to feel sick before the chemo starts. Do not worry if you are about to start chemo, most people do not get this. If you would like to try hypnotherapy for anticipatory nausea speak to your doctor first as it may be available in your hospital.
If you are not sure whether hypnotherapy may be suitable for you feel free to phone for a chat or have a look on our website for further details https://www.hypnotherapy-wales.com/

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
Anticipatory nausea associated with chemotherapy. This is a condition where you may start to feel sick before the chemotherapy starts. Do not worry if you are about to start chemo, this is not common, most people do not get this. Please ask your specialist nurse whether this is available to you on the NHS and whether it would be appropriate for you.
Hypnotherapy in palliative care. Ask your care team first as this may be available on the NHS.
I have experience in providing hypnotherapy to clients with a variety of issues, from weight-management, smoking cessation to all kinds of phobias. I personally think hypnotherapy is marvellous and can also complement mainstream medicine in many cases, such as chronic pain and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
However, in some cases, I may advise you that hypnotherapy with me doesn't appear,to me, to be the best solution for you at this moment in time. Clients will need to see their doctor first with some of the conditions For just one example, issues with alcohol require the support of your doctor hypnotherapy may have a role here as an adjunct to the treatment your doctor may suggest. However there are many issues that hypnotherapy may be ideal for, please feel free to email me if you would like free further advice to help you make your decision.
