I work in an integrative style, which means that I have studied various counselling and hypnotherapy methods and am able to match the style of therapy to suit your individual needs and personality. My approach is flexible and creative, and I am a firm believer in working in partnership with my clients.
I work a lot using the Ideomotor Response technique. This basically means that whilst my client is in a very relaxed trance state, I am able to communicate with their subconscious by asking yes or no questions, which get answered by my client raising a finger.
By using this method I am able to clearly understand whether the subconscious is willing to work with me, and from there am able to construct, together with my client, a treatment plan that they feel comfortable with.
'I saw Donna for hypnotherapy to help with my anxiety. After the sessions, I felt calmer, relaxed and more able to cope with the stresses that were in my life at that time. I recommend anyone looking to regain a balance in their life to give hypnotherapy a go'. K, Eastleigh
'Thank you for a relaxing and stress free experience. I will certain recommend you to anyone who has a fear which is affect enjoyment of their life!' L, Chandlers Ford
Training, qualifications & experience
I have over 20 years experience of working with people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives, whether that be relationship difficulties, anger management, low self esteem or anxiety to name but a few.
I am a qualified and experienced social worker and have also worked in the fields of inclusion, youth work and mental health. A few years ago I decided that I needed to expand my horizons, which is when I chose to study hypnotherapy and counselling. I initially studied with Chrysalis and achieved my Diploma in Hypnotherapy, and Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
I have since expanded my practice to cover working using the Ideomotor Response and Regression Techniques, and did my training for this, plus the Gastro Hypnotic Band technique with Hampshire School of Hypnotherapy. I am always looking to expand my knowledge of the many ways that hypnotherapy can be used to help people.
I am a member of the following bodies:
The Health & Care Professions Council
The National Hypnotherapy Society
The National Counselling Society
The Hampshire Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
