About me
I am a fully qualified and registered Clinical Hypnotherapist having trained with the Essex Institute in Southend on Sea, Essex. The training course has been accredited by Birmingham University. My practice is based within The Spinal and Natural Healthcare Centre in Benfleet, Essex.

Since my original training I have added other qualifications, I am a Licensed Practitioner of the WILL-STOP Hypnotic Gastric band therapy. There are frequently new courses being offered which enable me to keep up-to-date with all the latest techniques.

I enjoy helping with a variety of issues which include: Quit smoking, weight management, exam nerves, driving test nerves, sports performance and many more, there are too many to list here.

What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy uses the deeply relaxed state of hypnosis to make beneficial changes to your life. The most common form is Suggestion therapy, a bit like reading a story to you while you are sitting in a comfortable chair. While in the state of hypnosis you are neither asleep or unconscious, you are fully aware of what's happening. Everyone experiences hypnosis differently, there is no standard 'hypnotised feeling'. A daydream or being totally engrossed in a book or TV programme is a form of hypnosis.

WILL-STOP Hypnotic Gastric Band
This therapy implants the suggestion in the mind that a Gastric Band has been fitted. The whole process takes approximately 3 1/2 to 4 hours, during that time we find out about the problems which are preventing the client reaching and maintaining their target weight and address these under hypnosis. The session is divided into 3 parts with the actual fitting of the virtual gastric band being installed during the last part of the session.

   Air in the chest cavity
   Difficulty swallowing
   Making a hole in the stomach or oesophagus
   Infection of the band or wound
   Band erosion or leakage

Professional memberships
I am a member of APHP (The Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy) which is based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex but has a worldwide membership.

I am also a member of ANRPC (The National Register of Psychotherapists and Counsellors) and am registered as a recognised practioner with CNHC. The Department of Health recommends that you consult one of their registered practioners, as those practioners will have had their qualifications and training rigorously checked. The CNHC is an organisation that can only be joined at their invitation.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I trained at The Essex Institute in Southend on Sea. I like dealing with a variety of issues. It is very satisfying to see the change in someone when they have finished their therapy, for example someone who has struggled for years to quit the smoking habit but has not been successful.

I offer a range of therapies too numerous to be listed here. I am a licenced WILL-STOP virtual Gastric Band practitioner.

I attend workshops and classes for on-going professional training to keep up-to-date with the latest techniques.

As required with all professional therapists, I am fully covered by professional indemnity insurance.

My practice is situated within The Spinal and Natural Healthcare Centre, Rushbottom Lane, Benfleet, which is opposite Woodham Ley School. The clinic is a short walk from bus stops. Free parking can also be found in surrounding side roads.
