About me

Deborah is a Senior Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist with over 20 years experience of hypnotherapy. She is a member of The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) and a Professional Standards Agency accredited register of therapists approved for G.P. referral. She specialises in stress & anxiety, emotional problems, weight loss, addiction, smoking cessation, habits, fears and phobias.

Her success rate was assessed from January to March 2019 and was found to be between 91 and 96% dependent on the condition being treated. This success rate combined with her experience and degree level qualifications has led to Deborah to becoming one of the country's most highly valued and sought after hypnotherapists.

Deborah is co-founder of the The Hypnotherapy Practice, where the advanced techniques of analytical and curative hypnotherapy are practised. These more advanced techniques are distinguishable from other forms of hypnotherapy in that they achieve a permanent resolution for a wide range of conditions and issues.

In the past Deborah herself has achieved weight loss and resolved anxiety and IBS through hypnotherapy. In addition, she beat her addiction to nicotine when she succeeded in quitting smoking. As a result she went on to co-found the  The Hypnotherapy Practice, where she uses her insight into the effect of the mind on emotional and physical states to help others achieve health and well-being. Deborah is an empathetic therapist and uses a range of approaches in her practice to ensure each patient is treated sensitively and effectively to overcome even the most difficult problems.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

CNHC
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Fees

£65.00 - £110.00

Additional information

Face to face: £110 for initial session; £80 for every session thereafter.

Online: £100 initial session; £65 for every online session thereafter.

Further information

As well as face to face sessions, I am now also using an online format for hypnotherapy sessions. These types of sessions have long been used by therapists the world over and they are an effective way of accessing therapy remotely, particularly during these difficult times, when anxiety is high.

I use a platform called Zoom which is very stable, secure and free. I will send you full instructions on how to access the session via the Zoom app and can talk you through it on the phone if need be. The cost of these sessions will be £90 for the first session and £60 for every session after that.
