About me:
I am a fully qualified and experienced CNHC registered Hypnotherapist and Hypno-Psychotherapist helping people with a wide range of issues from anxiety and depression, to weight problems, panic including panic attacks, fears and phobias
NHS experience:
Having been with the NHS for 17 years (Head of Department 2001-2010), working with people with hearing loss, tinnitus and balance (vestibular) problems, primarily with those who have additional mental health issues that exacerbate the negative effects of tinnitus, I took early retirement in May 2010 in order to set up my own practice in Clitheroe
Where we are:
The Clitheroe Therapies Clinic is easily accessible by bus, train and car with parking at the rear of the building in Lowergate car park. The entrance is opposite Clitheroe Castle gates, between Elan boutique and Honeywell estate agents, and reception is on the first floor

Tinnitus Management:
Hypnotherapy is not an evidence-based standalone treatment for tinnitus; however, tinnitus distress is driven by the Autonomic Nervous System therefore, hypnotherapy can contribute as part of a treatment plan for tinnitus

Further Information
Lecturer and Trainer:
I have been a lecturer at the University of Manchester since 2006, and I run the CSTCP (Counselling Skills & Tinnitus Care Pathway) training course for UK audiologists; I am currently developing training in tinnitus management for suitably qualified and registered counsellors and psychotherapists throughout the UK. Both training courses are being run in partnership with the NW School of Audiology
Assessor:
I assess students’ work toward the Certificate of Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy for the National College of Hypnosis & Psychotherapy
Clinical Supervision & CPD:
I am a Clinical Supervisor for audiologists and hearing therapists throughout the UK
