About me

Hi I'm Darren,

I deliver online hypnotherapy sessions nationally and internationally (via Zoom, WhatsApp, and other platforms on request) and face-to-face sessions in York at the York Eco Business Centre in Clifton Moor.

Where I can help?

Here is a list of the areas where more commonly hypnosis can resolve both short- and long-term issues:

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Habits
  • Weight Management
  • Fears and Phobias
  • Jealousy
  • Confidence
  • Anger Management
  • Sleep
  • Self-esteem
  • Eating
  • and Addiction

This is not an exhaustive list, and please get in touch to explore how I can help you.

Why choose me?

I'm an advanced practitioner (around 1% of UK hypnotherapists have successfully completed studies to this level). Even more importantly, I run a very busy practice, which means I'm constantly presented with challenging cases, and this has helped me to become more of a specialist than a generalist. I've helped a great many people with a great many issues, and my results speak for themselves (see below).

I aim to become one of the UK's most trusted and recommended Clinical Hypnotherapists, and this can only be achieved by delivering great results with care, compassion, and understanding.

My methods

I have a range of skills to help you. You are unique, so I don't have a one-size-fits all approach. Together, we will choose what will work best for you.

I draw on my experience as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, NLP Practitioner and my skills as a Motivation Therapist and Coach. I will combine my skills to help you.

Often, people come and see me after struggling with issues for years. Having found my profile, it would be great if you became one of the growing numbers that say, "I wish I had found your help sooner."

What will you say after we resolve whatever has led you to read my profile?

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Weightloss

I have worked very successfully with hundreds of people who wanted to lose weight, and I myself have lost over six stones in weight. As such I have a real passion and understanding for those with weight issues.

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy are highly effective in helping those looking to lose weight.

In addition to my skills as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Master Practitioner in NLP and Motivation Therapist, I also trained with the UK's leading Slimming organisation as a consultant.

Self-esteem, anxiety & panic attacks

Another area where my skills are especially effective is with those suffering from low self-esteem, anxiety or panic attacks. Through the use of motivation therapy, hypnosis, NLP and my knowledge and expertise as I coach, I can provide positive lasting change.

My skills, knowledge, and expertise can help a wide range of issues, I've helped hundreds of clients to overcome Stress, Anxiety, and Depression. I also help with other challenges including, weight management, unwanted habits, and both common and more complex phobias, along with a whole host of other matters including PTSD. This is an area that I find most beneficial for my clients, as by resolving negative memories, the emotional landscape dramatically improves. I'm also able to do this content free, which means there is no need for personal disclosure.

Further information

What to expect in your first session

An initial session lasts for 60 minutes as a minimum. I always offer my clients a cup of tea or coffee, and there is also always plenty of filtered water available.

There will be a step by step explanation of what to expect at each stage and we will work at a speed to suit you.

Your comfort and safety are paramount, I'm confident you will be pleasantly surprised by just how relaxing Hypnotherapy can be and just how effective it will be in helping deliver the positive lasting change you wish for.

Whilst in this deeply relaxed state, you will be aware of your surroundings, be able to hear the sound of my voice and I will play some music that helps enhance the experience.

Many times in your life you will have been in an eyes-open state of hypnosis, whilst watching a film or when driving and arriving at your destination without quite remembering the journey. There are many myths and misconceptions about hypnosis and I will dispel any that you might have.
