Sometimes life can be particularly challenging and confusing and you may feel that you no longer can cope on your own. You may have reached a crisis point in your life and feel that you can no longer live with the problem. You may feel that you are not comfortable discussing these issues with friends or family or because of the fragmented and broken society we live in, you may find that you have no-one you can talk to. Feeling alone can only make the problem seem insurmountable and can ultimately hold you back in some way or another.
Today you have taken the first step to making positive changes in your life, the beginning of your journey into a less stressful and more promising and fulfilling future. Although change is necessary, it can also be overwhelming and finding the appropriate support and resources to assist you in working though your feelings and exploring effective and beneficial solutions to your problems will help lesson the load.

Who I Am
My name is Chalene and I am an experienced and qualified Hypnotherapist and Therapeutic Counsellor. I hail from sunny South Africa where I first worked as a Drama and English teacher before moving to the UK. During this period I gained valuable experience working with children from disadvantaged and troubled backgrounds incorporating both theatre and drama therapy into my work.
I have worked as a Hypnotherapist at the Northampton Clinic and work as a Counsellor for Mind in Rushden. I can offer support for both adults and teenagers.
Working extensively in the video, TV and film industry and running my own production company has given me invaluable insight into the issues facing women in the industry today from struggling with issues around sexism, maintaining a work/life balance, overcoming feelings of guilt returning to work, starting or running a business and improving health and fitness. Having worked with creative people both in the profession and as a counsellor and coach, I have helped and supported artists explore ways in which they can better flourish in their industry; overcoming fear of rejection, stage fright, improving health and personal body image, learning to quiet negative self-talk and to grow in confidence.
I studied through Chrysalis where I obtained a Diploma in Advanced Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Hypnotherapy.
I am also an accredited member of both the National Counselling Society (MCS Acc.) and the National Hypnotherapy Society (LHS) and follow the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy set by the associations.
I am fully CRB checked which is updated yearly.
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis for therapeutic purposes is far removed from the practice of stage hypnotists. Hypnotherapy will not make you cluck like a chicken or dance like a penguin. Rather, Hypnotherapy is an effective form of treatment to help people overcome and control a range of emotional, habitual and even psychological issues and problems, which originate in the mind.
A session of hypnotherapy incorporates elements of both counselling and coaching as well as hypnosis. Using a combination of words, thoughts and images, I will help you enter a relaxed state of being.
In this relaxed state, our unconscious mind becomes more receptive to beneficial direction and positive suggestions, empowering us to overcome problematic behaviour and ultimately improving our mental, physical and emotional well-being.
How I Can Help You?
As an Integrative Therapist, I enjoy working organically, drawing on different therapeutic approaches that will best provide you with what you need to continue on your journey to becoming the person you want to be.
My passion is to enable you to overcome difficult circumstances in your life by creating a warm, safe and non-judgmental environment in which you can fully and freely express your feelings and thoughts. In so doing, my desire is for you to gain a clearer and more objective perspective of your life and goals so that you can find healing form the past and develop the life skills to better cope on a daily basis. I will support you in achieving your dreams and encourage you to discover, explore and realise your true, unlimited potential.
I combine my skills in psychotherapeutic counselling, hypnotherapy and coaching, as well as my own personal and work related experiences to provide you with a unique package to help you love the life you live and live the life you love.
I offer support in the following areas: weight-loss, hypno-band, smoking cessation, anxiety disorders and phobias, panic attacks, stress-management, depression, habit-breaking, IBS, pain relief, sleep disorders, addictions, loss and bereavement, motivation and confidence building, improve performance, relationship issues, anger-management, inner child healing and I work with victims of sexual, physical and emotional abuse.
