Our subconscious has been looking out for us since the day we were born and, on the whole, has done a good job of keeping us alive and well. But like a well-meaning friend, sometimes it influences us to feel and behave in ways we would prefer not to. And life can be so complicated – things that we used to take in our stride seem more difficult; we don’t recover from set-backs like we used to; and sometimes it feels like nothing we try makes any difference.
Hypnotherapy helps the rational mind to exchange information with the subconscious mind and update ways of thinking and behaving which have accumulated over time. This is a completely natural process and something which we do already but hypnotherapy makes this flow of information much quicker and easier. By creating the right conditions, hypnotherapy can get you back on track, re-calibrating your thinking and, whatever your situation, giving you renewed enthusiasm to get the most out of life.
Hypnosis is nothing like you see on television. Hypnotherapy simply helps you to access your own inner resources to resolve your own problems and dilemmas. When people say that they will ‘sleep on a problem’ it is because they instinctively know that their subconscious mind will continue to work on the dilemma while they have effectively ‘switched off’ their conscious mind. Sure enough, the morning often brings new insight. But you don’t need to be asleep or even in a deep trance for this process to work, just open-minded enough to give it a try.
I consider myself a very logical person, with a previous career which spanned law and finance, yet I still found myself struggling with thoughts and feelings which bemused me and which I could not logically seem to be able to deal with. Experiencing and studying hypnotherapy was a revelation to me personally and, since then, nothing has brought me more pleasure and excitement than watching my clients experience breakthroughs in areas of their lives that they thought were too difficult for them to change.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a professional member of the National Hypnotherapy Society. I trained with Chrysalis Not For Profit Limited and obtained their Accredited Professional Therapy Training Certificate in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills Cert Hyp CS in 2015. I am a practitioner of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Mindfulness and Symbolic Modelling. I can also help with career and life coaching and am a Lumina Spark practitioner. Lumina specialises in individualised psychometric portraits for career and self- development purposes.

The initial consultation is free in order to establish whether hypnotherapy is right for you and to guage how many sessions might be required overall.
Subsequent sessions are chargeable at £50 per 50 minute session (payable in advance).
24 hours' notice is required to cancel a session.
I like to work from my dedicated studio which is away from distractions and interruptions, a calm, comfortable, neutral space where we can talk and you can just be yourself but I am happy to come to you if you would prefer that or it is difficult to get to me.
