Quit 4 Life Smoking Cessation
I am a registered Quit 4 life Practitioner. A NHS recognised programme for smoking cessation.
Hypnosis for stopping smoking is scientifically proven to be more effective than any other therapy and is 100% safe.
In 1992 New Scientist Magazine published the results of an extensive clinical study on the most effective methods of quitting smoking. A meta-analysis, statistically combining the results of more than 600 studies (over 72,000 individual cases) showed that hypnotherapy increased a smoker’s success chances from 6% to 60%

Weight Control Programme
My weight Reduction Programme puts YOU IN CONTROL.
- Get Control Over What You Eat
- Get Control Over how You Eat
- Get control Over Emotional Eating
- Get Control Over Your Motivation to Exercise
- Get Control Over Your Mind With the Power of Self – Hypnosis
This programme puts the control into your hands and enhances the choices you make about food and exercise. The hypnotic recordings reinforce your progress and allow you to design your own hypnotic suggestions. Incentives to succeed are built into the structure of the programme, because you do not advance to the next step until you are successfully reducing your weight and shedding those excess pounds. Once you have achieved a reduction of at least SIXTEEN pounds, you have all the tools and methods you need to continue the programme on your own, or, if you prefer, schedule additional sessions.
The programme consists of eight sessions:
- Session 1: Interview and introduction
- Session 2: Reframing Compulsive Eating
- Session 3: Training in Self –Hypnosis
- Session 4: Stopping Emotional Eating with Stress Management
After session 4, you will schedule each subsequent session when you have reduced your weight by at least four pounds. Once you reduce your weight by four pounds, schedule the next session right away. You are in charge, so you work at your own pace. You don’t advance to the next step until you are ready and are actually losing weight.
For each of the following sessions you’ll receive a customized recording of the hypnotherapy portion of that session. Listen to the recording often as you wish to reinforce and enhance your progress.
- Session 5: Making Sensible Food choices
- Session 6: Creating an intelligent Relationship with Food
- Session 7: Boosting motivation to exercise
- Session 8 : Putting it all together for Lasting Results
Clients that have completed the programme- are offered a discount coupon that offers a “refresher” or follow – up session at a discounted fee.
Are you constantly chasing your tail? Mindfulness Helps People find Peace & Calm and a Greater Sense of Well-being
Are you one those busy people who are rushed off your feet, scrambling around, constantly on the go, never feeling like everything is done, that there is never enough time in the day, feeling tired, exhausted, stressed out and fed up most of the time.
If so, I guess you know what its like when any moment of relaxation seems never to last quite long enough before the next wave of worries or things to do, creep up on you blasting a way any feeling of calmness.
Some caring colleagues or family members tell you to just slow down and relax, to take some deep breaths and try to do less ( if only you had the time and it was that easy). You’ve heard it all before or read it in some American self help book, telling us to just think positively, switch off, time manage better, and delegate more. Well if you are like me, you’ve tried all these things and probably also found that it doesn’t work.
You may be asking- why is it so difficult to work out a way to be less stressed in a busy world. How can you get out of the constant doing mode into the human being mode. The answer is mindfulness. Mindfulness has recently become very hip which is great because it is certainly profoundly nurturing and life – transforming for those who undertake it.
Over the last few decades more and more scientific research has been conducted to investigate the effects of mindfulness practice on our brains, minds, emotions, behaviors, functioning and bodies. This research is showing us how mindfulness can effectively help many difficulties such as depression, anxiety, stress, psychosis, body image, attention and memory problems, low self-esteem, work-related stress, psoriasis, acute and chronic pain, and relationship problems. After eight weeks of regular practice, research has proven that mindfulness can dramatically improve our well – being and performance in many areas of our modern and busy lives.
More and more people are now recognizing the benefits such as:
- To de-stress and relax;
- To build resilience in the face of inevitable daily stress;
- To free up our creativity, improve our performance, and efficiency;
- To tap into our natural source of physical and mental energy;
- To truly create the effective, efficient, meaningful and fun reality that we want for ourselves.
By regularly practicing mindfulness you can expect to: If you decide to find out what this hip thing called mindfulness is and see me 1-1 or attend one of my mindfulness courses and start to practise mindfulness regularly -let me warn you – it will change your life ( in a good way). You can expect to manage your stress and busyness both at home and at work with much more ease and efficiency. By regularly practicing mindfulness you can expect to:
- Feel happier and more contented
- Improve your motivation and energy levels
- Be more productive and effective
- Improve your mental and physical stamina
- Boost your immune system and improve your general health
- Decrease your stress and chances of other mental health problems
- Improve your memory and concentration
- Enhance your intuition and creativity
- Enhance your communication skills and enjoy more fulfilling re relationships
- Create a more enjoyable, meaningful and fulfilling life
The programme I run is called Mindfulness Now and is a fusion of the key elements from MBSR ( Mind based stress reduction) and MBCT ( Mind based cognitive therapy). The programme is flexible and aimed to meet the needs of individuals on a one -to-one basis or groups within companies. The programme could simply be once a week group mindfulness sessions- ( one hour)
In our modern competitive society people are increasingly experiencing too much stress. This is called negative stress and can lead to both mental and physical illness.
Frequently stress is caused by frustration and feelings of being out of control in our life. It is probably true to say that we all have either suffered stress at some point in our life’s or have witnessed it happening to others. Many people find that stress makes them physically ill, tense, anxious and irritable, prone to eat, drink or smoke more. Many sufferers find their stomachs and bowels are upset and eventually this may lead to more serious illness.
Hypnotherapy and mindfulness offer the ability to dissolve the immediate stress felt by the client. The relaxation and deep breathing induced by hypnosis unravel muscular tension and set up what is called the relaxation response.
If you are suffering from stress related to a specific event then hypnotherapy will, by the use of positive suggestion be able to reduce stress levels so you feel more relaxed and in control.
Hypnotherapy can help increase your self esteem and confidence. By using the power of subconscious imagination the client visualizes themselves being calm and self assured.
If your stress is more deep rooted, then a course of analytical hypnotherapy may be needed to give you lasting resolve and help you have a more fulfilled and relaxed approach to life in the future.

I believe in using hypnotherapy and Mindfulness to empower clients to find their own answers and make long lasting change. Very much a collaborative process between myself and the client. I also provide clients with self- hypnosis CDs ( normally a recording of one of the sessions) and self help exercises.
I practise a number of hypnotherapy methods- Solution Focussed, Ericksonian, Hypnoanalysis (regression) and Cognitive. (CBT). I aim to use the method most appropriate to by clients personality and issue.
How many sessions
It really depends on the issue. Typically smoking cessation would be two x 1 hour sessions. The Think Thin programme is over twelve weeks. On average a client will normally get long lasting results after five sessions.
NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming - which basically means - 'How do we tick and how do we communicate with ourselves and others'. We often have negative programmes running in our heads which often lead to self limiting beliefs about ourselves and what we can or can not do. I help people challenge those beliefs and make big changes in their lives. Generally NLP interventions are done at a rapid pace- faster than the conscious mind can process usually. As a consequence deep level changes are made to our subconscious.
As well as my house nr Evesham, I work from a doctors surgery near Worcester (Grey Gable Surgery Inkberrow) and holistic centres in Birmingham and Stratford upon Avon ( Lifeways- Albany Street)
I abide by NCH professional code of ethics.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will I be aware of what's happening while I'm in hypnosis? Yes, in fact, within the hypnotic state we are actually hyper-aware of what is going on around us.
Will I lose control of myself while in hypnosis? Absolutely not! If an idea or suggestion is presented that does not ring true with you in hypnosis, you will reject it in your mind -- sometimes even removing yourself from hypnosis immediately.
Can I be 'trapped' in hypnosis? No, you can not. If you were conducted into the hypnotic state, and then the hypnotist left you alone, you would eventually just emerge on your own from hypnosis, much the same way we emerge from a nap.
Will I be made to do something foolish in hypnosis? It's unlikely that you will find yourself 'clucking like a chicken,' following a hypnotic session. In cases of stage hypnosis, where the hypnotist has given an entertaining suggestion to audience members, they comply because they are willing, just for the fun of it. If the hypnotist invited people onto the stage to help them feel happier, they'd be unlikely to get another booking for the entertainment value!
Can I be hypnotized against my will? Absolutely not! All hypnosis is considered to be self-hypnosis, so you cannot be hypnotized unless you wish to be.
Hypnosis has nothing to do with magic, metaphysics or religion. It is merely the most graceful, powerful and effective tool for accessing our vast internal capability, in order to easily make the positive changes we want to make in our lives.
Who can be hypnotized? It's understood that people who are of average and above intelligence and who haven't any brain damage may be hypnotized. Those who may have difficulty achieving the hypnotic state include people under the influence of heavy narcotics, people who suffer from some psychotic conditions or those who have sustained some form of physical damage to the brain. As far as is known, the only others who may not be hypnotized are those who do not wish to be hypnotized.
I changed from a corporate career to become a hypnotherapist because I was impressed with the effectiveness and power of hypnotherapy to help with many psychological issues. Millions of people are suffering mental anguish and striving unsuccessfully to find help.
Hypnotherapy is the answer for most of them because its safe, practical and effective
Hypnotherapy is becoming a lot more main stream as the NHS and Doctors increasingly appreciate its benefits as a complimentary therapy.
