I'm an experienced, Accredited Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist working in Clifton, Bristol. BA Hons. DHP HPD CNHC AfSFH MNCH(Reg). MNCP (Accred.) I coach adults who need help to manage stress, anxiety and fear.
I enjoy helping clients transform, remember their power, and work with them to have a better understanding of their thoughts and feelings, so that they can create positive change, achieve their goals and feel better. Drawing on Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, this modern, evidence and research based combination of hypnosis and psychotherapy, enables the client to increase self-awareness and build confidence, cultivating relaxation in mind and body. By changing old patterns of behaviour to new more positive ones, we can cope so much better with the challenges of life and work. Read more about the sessions here.
I have ten years of experience in coaching, mentoring and Clinical Hypnotherapy; with a lifelong interest in mindfulness, neuroscience and extensive corporate experience. Cultivating curiosity and compassion over the years has helped me hone my approach and informs my work – with everyone from professionals suffering stress, to world-class actors and musicians looking to improve their performance.
Hypnotherapy uses a combination of disciplines that can include Mindfulness, CBT, SFBT, NLP and Positive Psychology.

“Annette has been fantastically helpful for me, straight from the first session I was sure that I’d made the right decision in booking a session. She has really helped me transform how I deal with stressful situations. I am now able to take a step back from challenges and think clearly in making decisions. In addition to this she’s helped me learn relaxation and mindfulness techniques, which have helped me to really develop a feeling of calmness and reduce anxiety. This has had an immense impact on my life as I feel I can now be myself in all situations, without anxiety holding me back.” Jack, 28, Manager

My journey is one of transformation: it’s the motivation behind my vocation and the positive change I seek to inspire in others. Following family trauma in my early teens, I suffered episodes of anxiety that affected my confidence and performance. Through talking, body-focused therapy and personal practice, I learnt how to manage destructive thought patterns, feelings and emotions, and the empowering sense of control and resilience this gave me – it was life changing. My interest in helping people achieve goals grew out of my interactions with friends, family members, mentoring students and team members – I have always been curious how individuals cope with trauma and stress. I went on to explore the mind and body in more detail, both through academic study and personal practice, later qualifying as a Clinical Hypnotherapist & Psychotherapist.
It gives me great purpose to help people manage fear, stress and anxiety – and ultimately lead happier lives. I have 10 years of experience in coaching, mentoring and Clinical Hypnotherapy; coupled with a lifelong personal interest in mindfulness meditation, a rich performing arts history, and corporate experience heading up teams in production and project management. This multi-faceted experience has helped me hone my approach: a synthesis of therapeutic disciplines that informs and supports my work – with everyone from undergraduates suffering from exam anxiety and professionals struggling to manage stress, to world-class artists and actors looking to improve their performance.
Outside of the office, I deepen my understanding of mindfulness and compassionate awareness through daily practice, as well as attending retreats and workshops. I am particularly interested in the transformative power of the breath. I have performed on Radio and Television so understand the challenges of performance. I am a classically trained Violinist, and hold a BA Hons. (University of Kent) and diplomas in the arts. My interests include watching American comedy, travel, history, political science, religion, spirituality, hiking, and teaching my son the power of curiosity. Having lived most of my life in London, I moved to Bristol eight years ago, so I split my time between both cities. I support Help for Heroes and Deki – The UK’s first person to person microfinance charity, empowering entrepreneurs in developing countries.
‘Confidence has long been a barrier in my life and when I was asked to do a presentation I decided to be proactive and try hypnotherapy to help me overcome this obstacle. Annette has helped me increase my confidence levels through hypnotherapy and breathing techniques. Annette has shown me that small changes can have a big impact.' Laura, 35, London/Bristol
