I'm Andy and I use empathy, acceptance, and genuineness to help you find your own way.
Empathy - I am striving to understand what it's like to be you.
Acceptance - Whatever you bring, and however you are, is ok.
Genuineness - I am transparent and honest about myself with you.
I think it's really important to get on with your therapist so encourage you to trust your instincts when choosing one.
You can speak to me on the phone and are welcome to ask me anything you like, I'll try my best to answer.
I have been interested in how and why people change for over ten years, it started with looking at the language and techniques therapists used and then I became interested more in the quality of connection and overall philosophies of therapy.
I am deeply interested in understanding what happens within people, the internal processes that work within us, and the way I work facilitates this to happen in a more natural way without interpretation or interference of the material you bring.
Techniques are great and I have many of them but ultimately I believe therapy happens between two people so its helpful to find a connection of some kind.
I live next to Epping Forest with my cat (Ponyo) and enjoy films and literature that explore what it means to be human. Previously I worked in the insurance industry for eight years.
My main message is inner freedom, the freedom to be yourself in whatever way you choose.
I practice from my home in Loughton, Essex (North East London)
Parking is available and I am a few minutes walk from Loughton Underground Station.
Training, qualifications & experience
I studied Clinical Hypnosis (DipHE). The course provided a practical and scientific grounding in many hypnotic techniques and specialised therapeutic applications.
I studied Philosophy at Nottingham University and apply my learnings from that course in my therapeutic techniques.
I have attended multiple workshops on Parts Therapy and trained with the creator of Clean Language, I find the methods taught in them very effective to facilitate change, acceptance, and growth.
