Work-related stress - How hypnotherapy can help
The interviewer smiles. “Congratulations – we would like to offer you the job”. It’s an amazing feeling – security, financial independence and social status all take a giant leap forward.
Then time passes. You accumulate a mortgage and a family who depend on you. Your superiors increasingly offload onto you. Those under you are sometimes less than helpful. You absorb the pressure – but it is exhausting.
More time passes. You begin to dread the approach of Monday. Your loved ones notice the difference. Sleep begins to suffer as you “problem-solve” at 3am. Alcohol seems to temporarily blunt some of the anxiety – but at a cost. Something is wrong. What’s happening to you?
Work related stress has never been more prevalent. The reasons are obvious. We live in a competitive world. Rapid change is endemic – the capacity to adapt is finite. The tank can only hold so much petrol.
Hypnotherapy can really help in three important ways:
- You can learn to modify your emotional reaction to work demands.
- You can discover how to mentally separate work from non-work life.
- You can improve your sleeping pattern.
It is so rewarding to manage sufferers. Work-related stress is usually slow to develop - but hypnotherapeutic interventions often work quite quickly. People notice that the urge to escape falls away. They frequently become happier and more effective at work. Home-life becomes enjoyable once more. Relationships improve as work-related thinking is left where it belongs - in the workplace.
