Weight-loss - Diets vs hypnotherapy
Looking out my window and seeing the beautiful sunshine, it got me thinking about that it is the time of year that millions of people will be starting their diets. So I thought it would be a good idea to talk about how hypnotherapy can help with weight-loss and/or healthier eating compared to dieting.
When you think about dieting, does it make you feel hungry? For the majority of people it does, this is because we all have a deep and powerful part of our mind known as our fight or flight responses. This part of us is the part that keeps us alive and can help us avoid certain things that can or, we perceive can harm us. In the context of dieting when you tell yourself that you are going to eat less your fight or flight steps in and says “I need food to survive”, so this makes you feel hungry to ensure you eat. This can then make dieting that little bit more difficult. This is only one of the reasons why some people find dieting hard. Tthere are multiple other reasons that dieting can not only be difficult, but it can also be harmful to your health. When you look at the huge range of diets out there you can find it difficult to find the right one for you, the one that’s safe and heathy. You should always seek the advice of your GP or a qualified nutritionist before embarking on any diet.
What happens after the diet? Was that diet a permanent change? These questions are ones you have to ask yourself, because old habits die hard.
So where does hypnotherapy come in, well hypnotherapy is a highly successful way of losing weight on multiple levels. For example, we don’t need to upset our fight or flight responses because unlike dieting hypnotherapy will work with your sub-conscious mind and the fight or flight responses to positively change your eating habits at the source, enabling you to enjoy and prefer healthier foods. Not only this but your hypnotherapist will understand that everyone’s eating habits stem from somewhere, so spending time discovering this with your hypnotherapist allows your to tailor a plan specifically for you.
