Think yourself young

Do you find yourself worrying about getting older?

We all seem to do it, especially if we have a birthday coming up which takes us from being 30-something into being 40, or 40-something into 50 etc. We can spend half our lives worrying about getting older which stops us enjoying the age we are at the time. Perhaps looking in the mirror for a new wrinkle, and like anything else, if we look hard enough we will find it.

Having positive thoughts not only makes you feel better on the inside, it helps to improve physical strength and energy; it also helps you to hold your posture better - standing tall. If you stand in front of a mirror and speak to yourself in a positive way, you will hold your head up high and smile, resulting in a more radient and youthful appearance. Smile and be confident, rather than searching for a wrinkle that will cause you to drop your head and frown.

Physical strength, energy and positivity are all related to youth and you can keep all of these attributes as long as your thoughts remain enthusiastic and positive. However, so-what if you have a wrinkle or two, it’s just part of you.

There was an amazing lady in her late 70s on the news recently, who had been awarded a black belt in Karate. She was enjoying taking part in Karate classes and was surrounded by younger people, which didn't seem to bother her in the slightest, and why should it!

Having a young mental attitude to life can really make a difference to how you think about yourself, and how you live your life. Times are changing, along with attitudes to age, we are lucky to have the help of good creams and hair products to help us look the best we can.

It is said that 50 is the new 40. You see many people in their 50s, and much older, looking amazing.

TV presenter Lorraine Kelly, Chef Nigella Lawson and actor Helen Mirren (in her 60s), are all looking fabulous. And not just celebrities, if you feel young on the inside, it shows on the outside.

It is having the confidence to be yourself and enjoy the age you are.

Hypnotherapy can be very helpful in helping change your attitude to age and to have the confidence to do what you choose to do in your life. Perhaps you have an image in your mind of how your life will be in a few years time, and it's not one you are happy with. Hypnotherapy can help to change that image to one that is more pleasing and if you can see how you would like your life to be, it makes it much easier to make it a reality.
