The Power of Experiential Learning
18th July, 2012
In order to create change in life when we are uncomfortable, we generally need to be willing to be open to new ideas and possibilities. Information about these new ways to experience and interact with life and ourselves can, in themselves, be helpful however it is the experience of these changes that really propels us forward in new directions.
Hypnotherapy allows you to have an internal, subjective ‘experience’ of new ideas and possibilities that goes beyond just information and words.
Imagine wanting to learn to ride a horse and when you turn up for your first lesson the instructor says ‘you won’t be going anywhere near a real horse, let alone riding one, for at least a year’. You would question the wisdom of such an approach and most likely think ’how am I going to learn to ride a horse without actually doing it, experiencing it?’ and you would be right and the same applies to new life learnings.
Hypnotherapy and the state of hypnosis allow you to use your imagination to create an internal experience of the changes and ideas you want to take on board rather than just hearing about them. This is called Experiential Learning and is a powerful tool for change available through Hypnotherapy.
