Public speaking is one of those things that is essential in every walk of life. Even before you get a job you may find you need to be a good public speaker. You need to sell yourself during an interview to get a job and to do that you need to be good at it. Some people seem naturally gifted in public speaking and ooze charisma. Some people aren’t. Some people are even in the middle; they have all the charisma in the world but a fear of speaking in public stops them from doing it as well as they can. Public speaking is listed as one of the most common fears that people have and that really needs to change.
What public speaking requires above all is confidence; confidence in yourself and what you have to say. If you aren’t confident then you aren’t going to be able to deliver your message. If you feel like this then the brain reacts in completely the wrong way. When you stand up to speak it’s supposed to give you a nice shot of adrenaline and excitement to get you going. What happens instead is that you get a fear response. You respond as if you’re in danger, which isn’t the case. Unless of course you’re trying to talk your way out of something and you are in danger. If that’s the case you definitely need public speaking skills and to not freeze up.
Hypnosis and hypnotherapy are great for boosting confidence and for correcting little mistakes like the one mentioned above. Hypnosis can really help you build the confidence you require and when you are more confident your brain responds positively. Your brain knows when you can do something and gives you the tools you need to do it. Rather than running away from the challenge you run towards it and take care of the problem.
Hypnotherapy, as it pertains to public speaking, will lower the amount of tension that you generally have in your life. That will help you to relax and focus on the positive things. You’ll come to realise that, really, giving presentations and speaking aren’t nearly as scary as you thought they were. One thing that’s really essential is that you shouldn’t feel that you need to be perfect to be good. Nobody is really perfect. The sooner you realise and accept that the better. You can be good. You can even be great. You just have to not hold yourself up to impossible standards that you’ll never achieve. That’s the biggest problem a lot of people have and it’s one of the hardest mental barriers to overcome.
Eventually you’ll start to trust yourself more. Realise that you’re really competent at public speaking.
You’ll actually look forward to times when you’ll get to speak in public, perish the thought. You’ll feel the adrenaline you should, rather than the fear you shouldn’t.
If you have a fear of public speaking then give hypnosis a shot and see what it can do; enjoy talking loudly and proudly in public and become the best you that you can.
It’s a lot more possible than you think.
