Hypnosis - Does it really work?
24th January, 2013
Its official at long last Hypnosis does really work this was the headline in the press earlier this week.
But how does it work well the impact on the brain can been measured scientifically this came from leading American Psychiatrists.
The results of the experiments showed that something happens to peoples brains under Hypnosis that doesn't happen ordinarily.
This means that there are huge medical implications with people being able to manage their own pain & anxieties. This is great news for professional Hypnotherapists that have been correctly trained it means that Hypnotism does have a genuine effect on the functioning of not only the mind but also the body.
Hypnotism is not new back 200 years ago Dr Franz Anton Mesmer practised 'animal magnetism' hence the word mesmerised.
He was however ruined & driven out by people accusing him of magic & faking it. Since then we have some of the greats James Braid, Milton Erickson, William Stoltz to name but a few.
Hypnosis is here to stay & is becoming ever more popular. Just ensure you see someone who has been trained to the highest standards.
I think in the future Hypnosis will be available through the NHS but until then look for a reputable therapist in your area.
