Changing the way you think about food

There are many reasons why diets do not work, and they have absolutely nothing to do with the amount of food we put into our mouths.

How many times have you thought about changing your weight? Your mind goes into action with the thinking "I will eat less food - then the weight will drop off!", right? Well, no - that actually is wrong.

We all understand that eating less and increasing our daily exercise will result in weight loss, so why aren’t we all the size and shape we want to be? Why is the diet industry raking in billions of pounds every single year from people dieting over and over again? Many people have the mindset that while they are on a diet they will lose weight – so, on a unconscious level, the negative belief and myth is that when you’re not on a diet the weight will go back on. This creates the vicious cycle in the nightmare world of the diet. In fact, the opposite can happen; dieting can actually stop you from achieving your goal.

There is a part of your mind that creates a resistance; the more you think about something, the harder it is to let it go. Therefore, you’re saying "I will not eat that cake", and you're actually hearing "eat the cake". So, what if we change that to "eat the cake in moderation"? You let go of the resistance side of the battle, replacing it with the belief that will power alone will tell you when to stop. However, despite the fact that you consciously really know exactly what you need to do, your body is so used to the yo-yo dieting effect that it picks up the message that you are destined to fail once again as no lifestyle changes have been made. More importantly, if any have been made they will not last long-term. However, all is not lost. With hypnosis the changes can be long-lasting as hypnotherapy works with your unconscious mind, integrating positive thoughts to obtain the desired results that will remain firmly fixed deep in your unconscious mind.

Stress and anxiety can also play a major role in your ability to reach and maintain your desired weight. We all know that it is nearly impossible to eliminate stress completely from our hectic lives. However, it is possible to manage that stress in a very comfortable natural healthy way using hypnosis. As many people turn to food for comfort when stressed or anxious; using hypnosis techniques can help you learn how to control stress, and not allow it to affect other parts of your life (such as achieving your goal to get be the  weight you want to be!). There are so many other factors that affect the way we eat and why we struggle to reduce our weight.

For more information on how hypnosis can help you change your relationship with food contact a professional hypnotherapist who will be able to talk you through the process.
