Anxious about being anxious

Anxiety comes in many forms and affects thousands of people at some point in their lives, but sometimes we ignore it for so long that it just feels as though we are anxious about being anxious! We forget what we originally found so worrying. However, the underlying cause is still there.

Whatever form the anxiety takes it intrudes into everyday life and can interfere both day and night. It is an exhausting condition that can be totally overwhelming.

Medication can certainly be helpful in managing the symptoms, but does it change things long term? People often desire a quick fix and medication is seen as providing this. Given the complex nature of anxiety other interventions are often required too. Hypnotherapy can begin to give people back a sense of control. It can help them to manage the symptoms and understand where they came from in the first place.

There is often not enough emphasis on the fundamental link between the mind and the body. What happens in the mind will routinely be reflected by physical symptoms. Working on what is happening in both the conscious and subconscious parts of the mind is key to feeling better.

It is not important how long the anxiety has been a part of someone’s life. What is important is that the sufferer has decided they no longer wish to carry the burden. If you recognise that you have reached this point then hypnotherapy may be what you are looking for.
