This four-hour workshop will focus on how to recognise symptoms and behaviors relating to anxiety. Time will be taken to explore situations in the work environment where anxiety may be heightened, relevant to participants on the day. Coping strategies will be discussed with practical exercises shown to equip attendees with skills to reduce symptoms of anxiety.

The day will start with a little discussion on the benefits of hypnotherapy for relaxation followed by a relaxation exercise. To ensure all participants are comfortable during the discussion of anxiety and the situations where it may arise, a breathing exercise as well as EFT (emotional freedom technique) will be shown.

We will then look at the topic of anxiety - where it may have started (if you are aware, some people have no recollection), the physical symptoms experienced, the current situations in the work place that heighten reactions and how it makes you feel.

We'll look at avoidance behaviors that may be occurring. Negative thought patterns will be discussed with some CBT (cognitive behavior therapy) examples where unrecognised fear will be highlighted, giving examples of how this perpetuates the vicious circle of anxiety. The inner critic will be looked at and examples of internal dialogue used that can have an effect on self esteem, prohibiting performance. New coping strategies will be discussed followed by a NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) exercise. We will end the workshop with a recap on new skills learned, focusing on the positive new coping strategies.

A break of about 20 minutes will be given round about 12 noon where tea and coffee will be provided, as well as allowing a comfort break. It would be advisable to bring a pen to take notes on the worksheet provided,

The intention of this work shop is to equip you with skills and knowledge that can help you to manage your own symptoms more efficiently. It will also give you a little insight into alternative therapies available, should you feel you wish to explore the core issue of your own symptoms.
