Using mindfulness with clients part two - one day CPD course

Taking the power and practice of mindfulness to a new level – including working with groups and in schools.

Dates: 11th June and 2nd December 2017 10am until 4.30pm

Discounted rate for members of the GHR, NCH and BIH: £160 (Standard Price £175)

The workshop is aimed at those practitioners who have previously completed our using mindfulness with clients (part one) course. As well as extending the range and scope of therapists’ current knowledge and use of mindfulness, the day will focus on two particular areas of potential business activity for therapists: Running group courses and working with schools. Delegates attending part one and two will receive recognised qualification to teach mindfulness to groups and in schools.

The aim is to add to the knowledge and practice base of therapists in supporting clients who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, worry, self-judgment and a host of other negative belief, thought and behaviour patterns.

The day is highly practical in nature and you will have the opportunity to participate mindfulness sessions as well as learning how to engage with potential client groups.

On the workshop you will learn:

1. To consolidate your current experience of mindfulness:

  • Latest practices in mindfulness.
  • Mindfulness research findings and what they mean for practitioners.
  • Areas of potential growth for mindfulness practice.

2. Working with groups:

  • Challenges and benefits of group mindfulness including taking group feedback.
  • Mindfulness group course structure.
  • Exercises for use with groups.
  • Practical elements of leading group sessions.

3. Working with schools:

  • Challenge and benefits of working with schools.
  • Exercises for use with children.
  • Taking feedback with children.
  • Working with teachers.
