Studies show that marriage and divorce can cause major fluctuations in body weight, particularly in women.

The American Sociological Association carried out research on 10,071 individuals, over a period of time from 1986 to 2008, to determine any changes in body weight throughout this timescale.

In order to see if marriage and divorce were factors in weight increase, the researchers compared the body mass index between those who were newly married or divorced, with those who were either already married at the time, and those who were single. Interestingly, the study found that people who were within two years of a marriage or divorce, were at the highest risk of large increases in weight gain.

The study revealed that marriage caused a 33% risk of a small increase in women, whereas with those who were newly divorced, this figure was 22%. Men who were recently married, had a 28% risk of a small weight increased, and a 21% risk after divorce. These weight gains are so significant, especially within a short period of time, that they could actually lead to a lot of health issues for females in the future.

There are many factors which contribute to the reasons why both sexes experience weight gains during these transition periods. The main factor is that marriage inevitably leads to a complete change in lifestyle, and it can take a period of time before it settles down into a proper, healthy routine. Divorce is generally dealt with differently by people, some may overeat, others will eat very little.

If you are worried about changes in your weight after marriage or divorce, then you may want to look into hypnotherapy as a way of dealing with your eating habits.

A recent article featured in the Metro highlighted just how effective hypnobirthing can be for men as well as their childbearing partners.

The article followed a football loving male whose wife was nearing her due date, so in the interest of science he gave up his beloved Saturday matches to enrol on a hypnobirthing course with his wife.

He was surprised to find that the techniques he learnt in classes helped him to relax his wife, helping her to focus on her breathing, a skill which came in very handy whilst she was in labour.

After signing up to a Berkshire hypnobirthing course the couple joined other expectant families for a comprehensive course which was split over two days. It was during this course that the males learnt just how much of an important role they have to play in terms of practical, emotional and physical support.

Their practitioner explained to them different ways in which a gentle birth could be achieved, the rationale for hypnosis in birth and how to block out birth nightmares. The group also learned about emotional triggers and physical responses as well as being shown various images illustrating the various stages of birth and a selection of calming hypnobirths on DVD.

All of this ultimately lead to a calm and comfortable birth for the parents involved where both parties felt confident and in control to make whatever choices needed to be made for the healthy delivery of their baby.

If hypnobirthing does sound like something that could be of interest to you then you can contact a hypnotherapist in your area using the search tool located on the homepage of this site.

Asperger Syndrome is characterized by repetitive behaviours or rituals, socially and emotionally inappropriate behaviour and interaction, preoccupation with a subject to the point of the exclusion of other activities and uncoordinated movements.

Many with Asperger’s will also experience anger and temper outbursts, usually as a result of intense anxiety. Many of the mentioned symptoms can be altered and controlled through the subconcious mind and hypnotherapy is a way of achieving this.

If anxiousness builds over time this will begin to cause a large amount of stress in the brain and often leads to a series of outbursts, tantrums, irritability and fear which could eventually overflow into other aspects of a persons life causing social alienation and what is often considered to be maladaptive behaviour.

Hypnotherapy is an effective tool for alleviating stress and anxiety by relaxing the mind and nervous system as well as providing many other positive effects such as increasing self esteem and effective thinking and helping to improve insomnia.

If you would like to discuss hypnotherapy options further then you can contact a hypnotherapist in your local area using the search tool located on the homepage of this site.

The menopause is a consequence of the female reproductive system that 85% – 90% of women are likely to experience. Those in the other five percent happen to be extremely lucky as they are narrowly missing the troublesome symptoms with which the menopause comes hand in hand.

Hot flushes, sweats, sleeplessness, headaches and moodiness are to name but a few of the side effects and though Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is a route that many women take to reduce symptoms, hypnotherapy is a far more natural option that should be considered.

Hypnotherapy operates on both a conscious and unconscious level so is an excellent tool for providing beneficial mind, body treatment. Some common examples of symptoms which see an improvement using hypnotherapy include hot flushers, shivers, sweats, loss of libido, sleeplessness, dry skin, joint pain, headaches, mood swings, weight and muscle pain.

A number of Bristol mothers to be are turning to hypnotherapy to help them eliminate bad habits before the birth of their baby.

Many of them hope the therapy will help them to quit smoking and cut down their alcohol intake as well as learning to cope with the stress a new family member can bring.

Recent findings show that the amount of mums to be seeking hypnotherapy has doubled over the past 12 months, which could be a reflection of growing awareness among new parents about their children’s health.

Expectant mothers are hoping to cure themselves before they passed their bad habits onto their children.

If you are expecting and would like to nip certain bad habits in the bud before giving birth then hypnotherapy is an option you should consider. If you would like contacting a hypnotherapist in your area then you can do so using the homepage of this site.

A study published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine has found that premature ejaculation could be routed in genetics and that men who suffer with the condition are more likely to have atypical genetics.

The research showed that brain neurotransmitter dopamine could determine ejaculation and men with certain genetic differences could have varied levels of the chemical therefor affecting ejaculation.

In contrast to this, NHS Choices have said that although dopamine levels could indeed have an effect, it is mental issues and psychological reasons that are more likely to fuel the problem and they say more research is needed to establish the dopamine link.

It is understandable that this condition may cause embarrassment for men and for this reason they may feel uncomfortable seeking help from a professional. However, rather than suffering alone with the issue health professionals are encouraging men into overcome any anxiety they have which could be causing the problem by seeking the help of a clinical hypnotherapist of psychotherapist.

Hypnotherapy to reduce anxiety works by helping the patient to access the subconscious mind in order to change any negative thoughts to positive ones. This could be a long term and effective solution for any men suffering with this issue.

Alex Reid is concerned about the mental health of his new wife, fearing she may be experiencing a breakdown.

Recent media reports have highlighted Reid’s concerns over his wife’s emotional well being. Only recently on ITV’s This Morning Katie made a slip when she called her current husband after her ex Peter Andre’s name.

This incident further sparked Reid’s concerns that the last few months have been a particular struggle in terms of her work and personal life and he has suggested that she consider hypnotherapy to enable her to move on in her life and put her previous experience of a failed marriage behind her.

Friends are concerned that she is becoming unstable and that Andre is becoming an obsession. She was recently reported to have been distributing Andre’s private telephone number to random people as a joke.

Hypnotherapy has been found to be highly successful in many areas surrounding relationships. Whether you have been left with low self confidence after a failed relationship or you are feeling anxious and concerned in your current partnership, hypnotherapy could help you to move forward with a positive outlook.

If you would like to read more about any of the issues mentioned above you can do so using the hypnotherapy areas section of this site. Additionally if you would like to contact a hypnotherapist you can do so using the search feature on the home page of this site.

Postnatal depression, is a form of clinical depression which can affect parents after childbirth, it is dominantly females that suffer from the condition but men have also been known to develop it.

The depression usually occurs in women after they have carried a child, often happening within the first few months. Symptoms include sadness, fatigue, insomnia, appetite changes, reduced libido, crying episodes, anxiety, and irritability.

The cause is unclear but it is said that lack of vitamins or a significant change in women’s hormones can bring about the change, although hormonal treatment has been tested and have shown no improvement to the victims. Many women recover because of a support group or counselling.

After a persons level of depression has been treated to a moderate level with the use of anti-depressants, hypnotherapy can be a great help. Medication will be able to treat the patient to a certain level but most will find they still lack control over their feelings and thoughts.

Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind which is used to feeling whatever it is we are feeling internally. If a mother is feeling a little better but is still plagued by images of her previous depressed state then she is giving ammunition to her subconscious mind to still feel stressed. However, hypnotherapy can help to retrain the subconscious mind to not feel these thoughts.

Hypnotherapy will also help to restore the self esteem by re-programming the unconscious mind into how the person wants to be and by helping the person to revery back to their former more confident self.

If you are someone you know are suffering with what you think might be postnatal depression please seek advice and support from your GP. If you feel like hypnotherapy is something that could work for you in this instance then you can contact a hypnotherapist using the homepage of this site.

Hypnotherapy resource has often discussed the benefits of natal hypnotherapy for women, but it is also worth noting the benefits this kind of therapy can have on men, particularly fathers to be. Often when we are fussing and molly coddling the mother to be, we forget that fathers also need advice and support and positive influence on the woman’s birth experience.

Natal hypnotherapy will help fathers to become more confident, prepared and useful and once equipped with all of the above they can go from feeling unsure and anxious about the birth, to feeling excited and confident. Their new found confidence will go a long way in creating a calm and positive birthing atmosphere as the women will now feel able to rely on her partner and all of this will be the perfect way to start family life.

If you are a father to be and feel you could benefit from natal hypnotherapy then please visit the homepage of this site. Not only will this type of therapy rid you of your anxieties but it will also help you to connect to your partner on a higher level and it will show them your level of commitment.

Here are a couple of helpful tips that will go a long way in creating a happy and seamless birthing experience:

-Ask your partner to go through the birth plan with you so you can be sure of and can understand what she would like/not like in terms of pain relief and intervention.

-Discuss any fears and concerns you may have about the birth with ether a partner or a friend. Talking about them now will mean they will not be on your mind during the actual birth.

-Above all be there for her once hundred percent and more. Do not judge her or take anything she says personally because she may be feeling quite out of character. Whatever happens just go with the flow.
