Stan Holt has been a hypnotherapist for the past six years and has now decided to use his skills to help Bolton drivers beat any motoring issues they may have.

Often little everyday niggles can quickly escalate to fears and phobias if help is not sought at the right time. Holt explains how some drivers avoid certain roads, motorway driving and going over bridges and through tunnels.

Hypnotherapy can help to eliminate these fears by sending individuals into a deeply relaxed state which enables the practitioner to access the parts of the brain that cause nervous disorders, fears and phobias.

Holt actually retired from his job as a European Studies lecturer at Oldham College and retrained as a hypnotherapist after taking a special interest in the subject.

Already he has helped drivers overcome fears of driving on the motorway, going through tunnels and driving up hills.

He says: “People come to me wanting help with their issues so they are interested in what I have to say. I take an holistic approach which includes confidence building, dealing with the particular issue and teaching the client techniques for dealing with stress.”

According to The Daily Mirror T.V personality Peter Andre has turned to hypnotherapy in a bid to try and eliminate his extreme fear of theme park rides.

In a short interview with a Daily Mirror journalist, Andre admitted that roller-coaster rides petrifying him, from huge high speed backwards twisters right through to the teacup ride, he can’t go near them.

“I’m absolutely petrified of them!” he told The Mirror.

In an attempt to try and overcome this fear Andre has turned to hypnotherapy which he hopes will tackle the root of the problem. Hypnotherapy works through tackling the subconscious where the fear resides.

After several sessions Andre says he will be tackling the phobia head on by visiting Thorpe Park.

A rollercoaster with 10 inversions – and Stealth, a rollercoaster which hits 130km/h in around 1.8 seconds.

Ether way the directory is able to keep track of what our visitors are searching for each month.

Throughout April 16% of the searches performed were for ‘weight loss’ 8% for ‘smoking’ 7% for ‘anxiety’ 6% for ‘phobias’ and 5% for ‘low self confidence’. Of course there were many other searches performed but the above are the five most searched for terms and give a good idea of the types of issues people believe can benefit from hypnotherapy.

By taking a look at the keyword searches we are able to see which areas of Hypnotherapy are most in demand and we can therefor make sure the right information is easily accessible and readily available to anyone visiting the site.

A fear of reptiles may be something that many Brits find it difficult to contemplate, but encounters with slimy scaly creatures are far more frequent for those across the pond.

A zoo in Australia is now offering hypnotherapy to those who run a mile at the site of any of its cold blooded residents.

Warrick Angus is manager of the lizard house and says that he began the course after the success of a previous phobia cure programme which he ran to deal with the fear of spiders.
During the phobia treatment sessions the participants all get involved in a group discussion before then undergoing hypnotherapy and neuro linguistic programming to help them overcome their fear of reptiles.

After they have participated they are then thrown in at the deep end and given the opportunity to put their new found bravery to the test by handling small snakes and lizards before moving onto the intimidating olive python.

If you have a longstanding phobia that you would like to erase then hypnotherapy is a tool which could be a great help to you. If you would like to discuss a phobia you have with a qualified professional you can do so by visiting the homepage of this site and searching for a hypnotherapist in your local area.

For those of you who are terrified of needles then hypnotherapy could be the solution for you. A recent article from The Gazette Extra examined a case study to see how hypnosis could erase one teenagers deep seated fear of needles.

18 year old Dan had a huge phobia of needles and was worried about some upcoming shots he was to have at college. His mother suggested that he go for a hypnotherapy session to see if it could help.

Dan was unsure of when his phobia begun but he recalled feeling anxious at the age of 8 or 9 for days before injections were scheduled. His anxiety would increase as the appointment drew nearer.

At Dan’s first hypnotherapy session his hypnotherapist explained to him that the aim would be to discover the origin of the fear.

After being taken into a deeply relaxed state the hypnotherapist began to discuss his past with him. Dan reported feeling a strange sensation and was surprised to find out that his session had lasted an hour as he was unaware of the time passing even thought he was aware of what was happening around him.

Initially he did not recall any relevant memories but then they just popped into his head.
Dan remembered being 5 or 6 and playing on the third floor of his family home. He stepped on a stuffed animal that apparently had a pin in it. The pin stuck in his foot. We think it was a pin because he described it as a needle with a big head.

Dan recalled this incident very vividly and even though he describe his dad pulling the pin out, nether he or Dan’s mother remember it happening.

The next time Dan went for an injection he was able to sit calmly without feeling anxious of nauseas.

If you are suffering from a fear that you believe might be routed in a previous memory then hypnotherapy is a fantastic way of recalling that memory and allowing you to rid yourself of it. You can contact a qualified hypnotherapist using the homepage of this website.

Often the root of our depression is buried deep in our subconscious. This could be anything from a negative body image right through to a childhood memory. We are often unaware of the sources of these troubled feelings but hypnotherapy is something that could help peel back the layers in order to access and eliminate them.

Hypnosis has the advantage of quicker results than many traditional talking therapies and makes it possible to discover and understand problems rooted in the past. It is not there to take the place of counselling or medication but instead to work in conjunction with both resulting in a more in depth treatment regime, a high success rate and speedier results.

Hypnotherapy is also excellent for treating the symptoms that accompany depression. It is an excellent tool for increasing self esteem and confidence and it can often help those who feel guilty about a situation they didn’t really have control over.

Fears can often prevent people from moving on with their lives and once this fear or failure has been eliminated it will generate some positive motivation. Over time people will gradually begin to feel their depression easing away and their mood and energy levels will increase in turn.

If used alongside regular talk therapy sessions hypnosis can be used to increase self-esteem, encourage decisions and actions, and turn a negative life-approach to a positive one.

Phobias are fairly common, we ether have one ourselves or at least know someone who suffers from one. They are of course completely irrational and usually what we are afraid of poses little danger but we fear it nonetheless.

It is a well-known fact that hypnotherapy is a good treatment for phobias and it works through removing the subconscious pattern of the phobia. The most common technique is the Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) , which see’s the patient sent into a deep state of relaxation whilst the hypnotist retrains the subconscious mind to respond to the phobia in a different way.

The rewind technique is a fairly new method of hypnotherapy treatment and has proven highly effective no matter how long the person has suffered from the phobia. After the hypnotherapist has induced the patient into the state of hypnosis, they guide the patient through images and steps that act to “rewind” the phobia. The hypnotherapist does not need to know how the phobia first started and does not need to know any of the symptoms the patient is suffering from. All the hypnotherapist must know is how to guide patients through the Rewind Technique to help them overcome their fear.

There are many benefits of using this technique, the first being that it is fast and effective. It improves quality of life and can reduce use of prescription medication that is often used to treat the symptoms of the phobia. This technique can also be used with people who suffer from post traumatic stress disorder.

Hypnotherapy is one of the safest methods to help you with your sexual problems. This could be any number of things ranging from performance anxiety, erectile dysfunction, orgasmic dysfunction and low sex drive right through to frigidity. The first thing a hypnotherapist will do is uncover the hidden meaning behind your sexual problem and establish whether the problem you have is physical or psychological.

Sexual issues are more often than not related to the subconscious and they are usually triggered by an incident. Whilst undergoing hypnotherapy you will be asked questions about how and why the problems started and how you felt when they happened. Often these sexual problems are related to anxiety and commitment phobia and hypnotherapy can help you overcome these problems.

For those whose problems stem from low self image, anxiety and low confidence, hypnotherapy can work towards removing these long harboured thoughts. Auto suggestion and positive reinforcements will eliminate those negative thoughts instead of simply covering them up and will improve your self image and self worth.

Around 10% of the entire population suffer from social phobia. It is perhaps the most common form of anxiety disorder in existence.

The effects of this type of phobia can be quite devastating, not only emotionally but also physically. The symptoms that accompany the disorder include blushing, sweating, trembling, increased heart rate, stammering and nausea, all of which can make life somewhat unbearable.

This disorder stems from a fear of being judged and evaluated negatively by those that surround us, which in turn can force the sufferer into being frightened to do anything that has potential to humiliate them in public.

Medical responses to social phobia and Social Anxiety Disorder are to give anti-anxiety medication or to sometimes offer psychotherapy in the form of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). While these approaches may offer relief in some cases, the treatment works through managing the symptoms rather than treating and removing the cause.

The subconscious mind always acts in a way that aims to protect us, but often its response can be misguided. In this case the subconscious mind is trying to protect the individual from danger by creating the feeling of fear and anxiety but obviously this is not an appropriate response.

Hypnotherapy works at retaining the subconscious and works on realigning the faulty beliefs that are responsible for our anxiety. Once this is accomplished the symptoms are gone forever as apposed to simply being masked and there is no longer any driving force behind the anxiety phobia.

If you have been struggling with the really debilitating effects of social phobia or social anxiety disorder effective help is available through a hypnotherapist. To contact a qualified hypnotherapist please visit the homepage of this site.

Chessington World of Adventures claims to have seen a large increase on the number of parents who are too scared to go on rides, and who offer to stand on the sidelines holding the bags.

Bosses at the U.K theme park said they have seen an increase in the number of parents too scared to go on a roller coaster with their children. However, the attraction is now offering wimpy parents who suffer roller coaster phobia, a session with a hypnotherapist to beat their fears and get on the rides.

Chessington pride themselves as being a family attraction so it is just as important for adults to enjoy themselves as well as the children.

David Smith of Chessington World of Adventures said: “We hope that we can help parents overcome their coaster phobia and let their hair down on some our of family friendly coasters.”

Stephen Rigby, a registered hypnotherapist will be running the session for frightened parents added: “Often parents force themselves to go on a ride so that they don’t disappoint their children, and they will try many things to overcome their fear, such as screaming or even closing their eyes for the whole ride”.
