South Bromsgrove High School in Worcestershire kindly offered pupils hypnotherapy and various other relaxation methods, in a bid to calm their nerves ahead of impending exams.
The school held a ‘stress free day’ during which students were taught various relaxation methods such as hypnotherapy, reflexology, yoga and Tai Chi.
The school was keen to organise a treat for the pupils to reward them for all of their hard work throughout the year, but instead of organsing a ‘typical’ day out the teachers instead opted to plan something that would be useful for the children – especially with the upcoming exam season fast approaching.
Exam stress is becoming increasingly common among young pupils, who often feel extremely pressured to achieve certain results. However, whilst a small level of pressure can actually improve performance, if levels get too high and spiral out of control the effects can extremely negative.
