Solomon later appeared on This Morning and tearfully admitted to hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby that she understands that smoking whilst carrying her second child is a ‘selfish’ thing to do.
Solomon was asked by host and fellow mum Holly Willoughby if she had considered the harmful effects her habit may be having on her unborn child, to which Solomon replied ‘At the end of the day, nothing that I can say makes it right. All I can say is that from the day I found out that I was pregnant, I have tried my best to give up. I completely understand why people would be angry, because for some people it’s uncomprehendable.’
Whilst Solomon is still smoking, she told the This Morning hosts that she has cut down the amount of cigarettes she is smoking and she has been trying hard to give up entirely. She explained how some days she can easily go without smoking, and others are very difficult – a feeling that many smokers can surely identify with.
Solomon was also asked how she felt about being cut from the Foxy Bingo Celebrity Mum of the Year campaign. ‘I feel that they have to set a good example so it’s absolutely their decision and I have to accept it because at the end of the day they can’t be seen to support that.’ She said.
Solomon later revealed that she was using electric cigarettes in a bid to kick the habit and was also considering having hypnotherapy.
