N-Dubz singer has hypnotherapy
Tulisa Contostavalos, singer and star of popular music group N-Dubz has undergone a course of hypnotherapy in a bid to help her stop sqeezing the spots on her face.
As a teenager the singer suffered very severe breakouts and became obsessed with trying to reduce the appearance of the blemishes on her face.
Though the problem may seem relatively small to some, picking blemishes is a habit that can leave many teenagers with acne scars leading to extremely low self esteem and a lack of confidence, a situation that Constostavalos is able to identify with.
Contostavalos eventually reached a point where she felt a drastic course of therapy was needed in order to change her behaviour. She told X Magazine, “I stopped doing it about six months ago. From the age of about 14, I used to spend hours in front of the mirror squeezing literally anything I could find. I could have the tiniest little blackhead and I’d attack it until it was bright red and my skin was all broken and damaged. I’m so lucky I don’t have loads of scars.
“I had hypnotherapy. I was really sceptical about it working but it totally did. Now I’ll only squeeze a spot if I really need to and then I’ll put Savlon on afterwards to heal it. It’s made such a dramatic difference to me. It’s amazing.”
