Obesity increases risk of colon cancer

An international team of scientists have predicted that colon cancer cases will increase by 50% within 30 years.

Currently Britain has around 23,000 cases but the European Journal of Cancer has predicted this will rise to around 35,000 by the year 2040.

One of the key factors in the huge increase is the soaring rates of obesity. With Britain already the fattest country in Europe, if these rates continue to rise and eventually reach levels on par with the US, this would add an additional 2,000 to the total.

We already know that being overweight dramatically increases the risk of high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and other conditions and this latest research has further highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy weight and active lifestyle.

If you are having difficulty maintaining a healthy weight and would like a helping hand hypnotherapy is an option which is certainly worth considering. Options include both hypnotherapy for weight loss or gastric band hypnotherapy both of which have been found to be successful in many cases.

Hypnotherapy for weight loss usually involves the practitioner helping you into a deeply relaxed state, during which they are able to access you unconscious mind and reprogramme negative thoughts and responses. Gastric band hypnotherapy works in a slightly different way, making the individual believe they have been through the process of having a real gastric band fitted but without the pain and side effects of the actual surgery.
