Help with insomnia
Having trouble sleeping? You’re not the only one.
With today’s busy lives and long working hours we all look forward to a good nights sleep. Sadly though there are many of us who find it difficult to wind down and get into pyjama mode. With our minds clouded with the stresses and strains of work, our personal lives and life in general sleeping pills are becoming common place in order to get a good nights shut eye. If you are having difficulty sleeping why not try some more natural sleep aids that don’t involve medications.
- Relax
Try to wind down about an hour before bed time, take a bath, read a book, whatever it is that works for you in helping your body to unwind.
-Acupuncture
Having very small needles inserted into certain areas of your skin isn’t everyones cup of tea but it is regarded as a very effective sleep aid. It works by triggering certain chemicals in the brain which are believed to help a person sleep.
-Acupressure
This involves administering pressure with the fingers to certain areas of the body. It works in a similar was to acupuncture but you can learn to do this yourself at home.
-Massage
A good rubdown makes you feel relaxed which is of course essential to sleep.
-Hypnosis
This technique involves inducing the patient into a very relaxed state of hypnosis so the subconscious mind can be accessed. The subconscious can then be altered so whatever is causing the insomnia is eliminated and sleep can be encouraged.
Most insomnia sufferers have found that this is one of the most effective treatments as results can be seen within as little as two or three sessions.
