Learn how to retain information with hypnotherapy
The ability to focus is essential when trying to learn. On average we all take at least twenty minutes to properly retain new information. It doesn’t sound very long but at some point we have all been guilty of staring out the window when we should have been listening and taking notes. In order for students to attain a higher level of focus they should focus on the following.
-In time you will be able to train your memory to retain a larger amount of information. You can start this by trying to observe and remember some of life’s little everyday details. For example you could remember a few of the ingredients from the back of your cereal box or the number plate of your neighbours car.
-Our memory can be triggered by familiarity. Repeating the same task over and over again will drum information into your head. With dancing because the same routine is repeated our muscles we begin to respond to the mind memory. Use this to your advantage and make sure you always study in the same place to allow your memory to recall what you learnt the last time you were there.
-Study in short bursts. It has been proven that we retain more information when we learn in small doses. So swot for half an hour and then take a ten minute break and continue with this process.
- Understand that your subconscious has a powerful hold over what information you retain. You can use this to your advantage by learning how to put yourself into this altered state which will maximise your focus.
Working with a hypnotherapist will help you to block out distractions through setting priorities and working on the subconscious mind. Once you feel comfortable with the techniques and you feel you can focus on your learning goal you can use self hypnosis to continue the techniques at home to help you achieve any learning goal you have set yourself.
