The Great American Smokeout

Across the pond America are celebrating… well not exactly celebrating, but they are in the midst of their Great American Smokeout 2009, an annual event which encourages Americans to stop smoking tobacco. In a bid to support those on the path to smokefree life, lets have a look at how hypnotherapy can aid the quitting process.

During hypnotherapy, the ‘working mind’ and our body make a connection with our subconscious mind and are subjected to intense all consuming relaxation techniques. This will allow the patient to focus on a solution to his or her problems. Hypnosis has an almost 70% success rate and there are no chemicals or drugs used and there will be no withdrawal symptoms when treatment ends.

Techniques such as Neuro Linguistic Programs (NLP), are used to take the smoker through the process of breaking habitual associations with certain things or occurrences. For example, if a smoker usually smokes when under stress or on a regular walk to work then the hypnotherapist will make this action seem unattractive and unnecessary so the smoker refrains from smoking.

If you are addicted to smoking and are ready to try and quit then please visit the homepage of this site where you will be able to use our directory to find a hypnotherapist in your local area. Good luck!
