With many of the UK’s women looking to botox to help them age well and stay looking young, but fearing the dreaded needle, it isn’t a great surprise that hypnotherapists have been starting to offer a needle free alternative.
To understand how this can work it is important to first have a basic understanding of how botox works, which is through a series of small diluted botulinum toxins’ being injected into various muscles in the face. These injections have the effect of relaxing the facial muscles, causing wrinkles to relax and soften. The effects usually last between 4 and 6 months, when another injection may be required. However it is often the case that after each injection the wrinkles return as less severe, as the muscles are trained to relax, giving some permanent benefit.
The premise of hypnosis for botox is that it replicates the events of the normal procedure but without needing to pay to keep up the treatments on top of which it can also benefit the mind.
A hypnotherapist will help the patient into a relaxed state of mind which will in turn give them access to speak to the the patients subconscious. This technique works best once one initial botox injection has been done, because hypnotherapy will then train the patient how to maintain the muscle relaxation gained by the initial injection. The hypnotherapy should be an ongoing thing and using the audio sessions that certain hypnotherapists offer, they will be able to re listen every now and then with no charge, on how to keep those facial muscles relaxed leading to a permanent smoothness of the face. Another plus is that the alternative treatment also comes without the side effects of the original such as headaches and nausea.
These treatments look like they will become equally as popular as the original and this is not surprising as they are less costly and have no side effects, proving to be as and sometimes more effective.
