Our life is full to the brim with things that can cause us stress. From household bills to our jobs all of these seemingly small things eventually pile up and cause stress.
We all know that stress is a huge contributing factor in high blood pressure but often we are unaware of how this actually happens. Your arteries bear the responsibility of transporting all your blood throughout your entire body. A network of nerves surround these arteries and when we are under stress out bodies react by tensing these nerves and exerting pressure on the arteries. This is what causes high blood pressure and basically the more tense we become the higher our blood pressure as more and more pressure is exerted.
Doctors solution to this is usually to try and relax and take it easy. However this is easier said than done and it is difficult to persuade are bodies to let the tension sail away after a somewhat stressful day.
Hypnosis is a good way of learning how to relax as it teaches our conscious mind how to deal with the everyday stresses we face. Whilst doing this it also teaches the unconscious mind to send signals to our bodies to react to the stress in a less negative way so that our blood pressure becomes more stable.
