Hypnotherapy for cancer patients

Hypnotherapy’s profile has been rising over the last few years and it is gradually becoming more respected and popular as a serious and affective treatment for many physical and mental issues. Recently the use of hypnotherapy in conjunction with conventional cancer treatments has become more popular.

Recent studies have found that hypnotherapy helps sufferers to relax and to cope better with their symptoms. Most current research has been conducted among children so more research is needed in adults, however the findings showed that depression, anxiety and stress were all reduced after hypnotherapy and the children also felt more in control and comfortable with their situation. Where chemotherapy is concerned, hypnotherapy was found to reduce sickness and pain within children. All reviews mentioned above are available on the CAMEOL website.

Although most research is child based an American study conducted in 2007 gave hypnotherapy to adult breast cancer patients. The results showed that this lowered the amount of pain, sickness, tiredness and upset after surgery and another study from the previous year also found it helped reduce anxiety and pain during biopsies for suspected breast cancer.
