Hypnosis helps address self-esteem issues

Hypnosis is a useful tool in tackling self-confidence issues, reports the Examiner.

Confidence and esteem issues can lead to further problems, such as easting disorders, so it is important that they are dealt with.

When in a conscious state, the mind is more alert and attentive and will rely on logic and reasoning to make decisions and judge situations. However, when in a hypnotic state, the mind is more open to ideas and suggestions away from logic, without critisticing or judging ideas. This can help change behaviour and thought processes, eradicating negative thoughts.

John Owens, certified hypnotherapist said: ”In the hypnotic state, you are not really thinking in the traditional sense.

“You are experiencing without questioning, without critical judgment or analysis. And the hypnotist can make suggestions that are very likely to stick because your conscious mind is not getting in the way. You are not judging or being critical of the suggestions.”
