Natal hypnotherapy in Aberdeen
Women in Scotland are becoming the first to try natal hypnotherapy, reports the Aberdeen Press & Journal today.
Charlie Paris, 24, has become the area’s first natal hypnotherapy practitioner, and will run classes that use hypnotherapy to help women control their mind, and hopefully alleviate pain, during labour.
It’s hoped that by being able to remove the mind from the situation through simple hypnosis techniques, women will be able to remove themselves from the pain of labour, and help relax and make it a less traumatic experience.
Ms Paris said: “I was terrified of hospitals and terrified of giving birth. So I opted for a home birth and that’s when I discovered natal hypnotherapy. I had a wonderful, straightforward and very fast home birth.I started to feel passionate about normalising childbirth and felt that if I could have such an empowering positive experience everybody could.”
Having completed all the relevant qualifications and courses, she is now ready to try and help others.
