More worrying alcohol figures
Another worrying study recently published shows that one in three adults drink more than the recommended daily allowance, reports The Independent.
The figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that 37% of adults exceed the daily limit on at least one day every week. The class divide was also highlighted, with 43% of those in a professional and managerial role drinking over the recommended amounts, but only 31% of manual workers, suggesting a shift further towards so-called ‘middle-class drinking’.
The ONS findings show that, when people do go over the limit, it is often by more than double.
The Department of Health and many doctors are calling for more labelling on bottles to show alcohol content.
